Change or fix the power door lock on 2010 Acura MDX

Just finished this project. There are a lot of small little things. My 07, someone used loctite on that one screw by the plug. You have to really fish the actuator down once everything is unscrewed.

Thank you for providing this tutorial! Only one I could find for the 07-13 MDX. FYI in case anyone is attempting this on the front driver/passenger. There is one extra cable that you have to unplug from the actuator. It leads to the key hole lock.

Hi Gordon, great video and thank you for providing all the details in clear and concise manner. My 2009 Mdx rear passenger door won’t lock or unlock with the key fob. In fact the rear hatch won’t open unless I manually unlock the rear door. It’s funny how the rear passenger door effects the rear hatch. I’ll replacing the rear actuator and I hope it resolves my issue. Thanks for the great video!

Why not showing the bleu cable connected to the key lock. This is difficult to remove

Did you test the switch? Do you hear anything with the new one?

I have the same issue and the switch doesn’t unlock even after I switched actuator. I have to manually unlock from the inside switch in order to open the door. Any suggestion to narrow down? Like replace switch or change cable or fuse?

I have a 2010 and my issue is a warning that says check pwr tailgate. It hasnt closed since this morning inthink its the wire harness but im not sure if its the door latch you are speaking on. Any advice?

How do you know which actuator isn’t working? Only my driver side door works.

Great content, so glad I could see what was going on inside! I replaced an outer broken handle but for some reason all the inside mechanisms are working but the outside handle isn't opening hte door. I can't figure it out. any ideas? Thanks again for the video.

You will have to make sure the bar I mention at the end is attached from the exterior handle to the metal lever on the back side of the lock assembly. I mention it around the 9 minute mark of the video.
