John Mård yes I have the right socket now and all is good 😊 if you are like me you have probably made many custom tools, jigs or found a new way to solve a problem time after time :)

Yes, I admit! :-) And sometimes making a "new" tool is just as fun as the project itself. (but annoying at times too)

F'in only 18mm will work. Same issue on a motorcycle spark plug. I'll have to give your hack a try. good video. I subscribed just because of this video

I have used paper towel material as they are absorbent, protects the porcelain, will hold ok, but replace it after a few uses [30 or so] as the paper compresses and gets loose. just fold over the paper towel a few times to help cushion the porcelain and wrap around the plugs porcelain and thick enough to go into the socket deep enough that it lets the socket grip the plug at the steel nut. [tear off excess] it works well in protecting the porcelain of the plug and grips it well enough for deep installs and it cheap to replace. *yes it is also easy to retrieve if it stays on the plug.

2007 F150 old plugs are 9/16 and the mew ones are 14mm why i don’t now

My question is why the spark plug was so tight, you should been able to twist it off with the socket and extension, you shouldn’t need the ratchet
