This is why, on the rare occasions I post a design, I always post the Fusion 360 file with it. Anyone can download that and make any changes they want.

I've never gotten the hang of Tinkercad... I prefer F360. Great look at how to do it though. Another way to do a lot of modifications to STL's is right in the slicer using Modifiers. I use them a lot to add or subtract from objects, to add holes, gaps, etc.

Slicers do have some of these functions, yes. I'm planning to do more videos about this in the future 😉

Tinkercad works great for these types of things and of course creating too. Somethings it is difficult to do in tc though, ie it's limitations. Thanks so much for sharing w us!!

Great video! Tinkercad comes to the rescue quite often due me.

I never really gelled with Tinkercad, but Prusa Slicer often does everything I need in this department. I’ll often run parts through Prusa Sclicer and export into Orca Slicer to print, because its editing and text tools are that much better.

Thanks for posting what you learned on how to do this. I have been using this technique for sometime and Tinkercad is great for tweaking models. However Tinkercad does have limits on the size or complexity of the STL you can import. Complex models with lots of surface angles like a figurine may not import just depends. But it works for most things that I do. Thanks for sharing and keep on going my friend.

Thank you for the kind words! Yes, tinkercad has limitations, but it's a surprisingly powerful tool to have.

Same modifications like you did in TinkerCAD can also be performed directly in the Slicer. Quite an easy Task for example for Prusa Slicer / Bambu Studio / Orca Slicer.

Yes they can, I just prefer TinkerCAD 👍

An ancient 8T 5G :) its a great phone, but the camera isn't good enough for making videos, so I invested in a proper camera rather than a new phone.

I wish people would design there own parts instead taking someone else design. And say I made this!

Stealing designs is not ok, but I don't expect everyone to learn CAD
@garywillett41465 ай бұрын
I learned it , and if you have a printer you should learn it.

Are you talking about me specifically?
@garywillett41465 ай бұрын
No , it’s to show people how design something that’s simple at first.

Learning CAD should not be a requirement when having a printer. Basic understanding of something like tinkercad does expand the usability of your printer exponentially.
