Having come from an older version, the thing I'm most annoyed about having purchased this calculator today, is the removal of the % button. It's now behind Catalogue - Probability - %. There are literally keys that don't have a shift function that this could easily have been added to as with previous models.

There is no language feature on the fx-83GT or 85GT CW models, they are only in English.

Hmmmm…. If I’m doing, for example a “Ans + 0.2” and doing it several times, if I hit shift+Exe it will do a new iteration, not just change my current iteration from sure to decimals like old calculators…. This is a vastly inferior calculator build than the old S D models.

Yes it’s a massive downside as it reprocesses the answer if you use ANS in your calculations. It is only format that changes it as it is, which I agree is not as good as SD

Yeah I was about to say and if you're in an exam under huge pressure, this will be such a downside if your calculation is wrong due to forgetting this fact. It's a shame how this managed to get passed in design of this new revision.

@@MichlBro Indeed. I am advising my Higher / A-Level students away from these calculators. There are just too many instances where using ANS is such a logical thing to do on a calculator, and this design choice only has drawbacks. I have no idea why they'd make this change.

It doesn't seem to bad now that I realise that I can pretty much do SD by selecting the "Format" button next to EXE and choosing decimal format etc (Can convert to standard form) instead of using the tidal-equal button. I guess I'm just getting old and starting to feel like an old man complaining about the newer generation 😭.

Even older models did new iteration on pressing *Shift* and *Equal* The format button is where you can change it to decimal without reevaluating your input.
