@@BestPossibleSolution After getting a computer from China, the Chinese Windows wouldn't let me change display language as the Chinese version of Windows only supports Chinese. To get English, a new installation was required by downloading Windows 11 from Microsoft's website and installing a clean install to an empty partition. Windows automatically activated on the fresh install.

From memory, you'll need to download Windows 11 installation media to your flash drive and boot from that after changing boot order to flash drive in the BIOS, as you did with Windows 10. In the installation process, clean install to the empty partition on your hard drive. Download and run partition software on the Chinese W11 to create the new partition if you don't have an empty partition, before you run the Windows installation.

My friend, I buy a laptop from china and it's still on delivery today but the seller said it has only (Windows 11 Home Chinese Edition). I search on the google if i can change the language system to english but it cant be because windows home only have 1 language perhaps i'll buy windows 11 pro license and change the language because they said Windows 11 pro has multilingual packs. I just got a windows 11 laptop in Chinese and set it up in Chinese, I'm not getting the same settings and menu as you. It's different and in the time and language settings for me on adding the language it doesn't allow me to use it to change the display language it's still locked in Chinese

I had the same problem as you. If your Windows was bought or imported from mainland China, Chinese language is locked as the display language. To overcome this, make an empty partition on your computer, download Windows 11 from your country's Microsoft site to a USB, and clean install from USB to the empty partition. It will automatically activate and you'll have two Windows, one in your language and one in Chinese. You can delete the Chinese Windows when you're ready to afterwards.

@@SeriousClassics hi Simon, did you have any issues installing the English version of windows to the partition? For some reason my track pad stops working and the wifi doesn't work so I can't complete the setup. I assumenits something to do with the drivers but I don't know how to overcome it

@@ashgoodoon I didn't have any issues. Almost certain that's a driver problem. I suggest looking to see if there are driver installation files on your computer, or downloading them from the internet via your working Chinese installation.

I bought a computer in China. The computer came with Chinese windows 11. I can't change the language into anything other than Chinese despite changing language in settings. Later I did new windows with a new license key. Now it's working okay. I bought the brand Hasee. Wanted to try this computer brand due to its affordable prices.

Great video - your Chinese sounds great, by the way. Unfortunately, it seems Windows OS sold in China doesn't support English as a Display Language. I have tried nearly everything I can think of or find, including this video, but can't find a solution. Do you know how we'd go about changing it? Normally there is no difference, the same process you have to follow. You Must be Login as a Admin.

This rule was first introduced with Windows Phone 7 in 2010 for mobile devices and was later added to Windows 8 in 2012 for PCs. For example, a 2021 and later Surface device sold in North America only supports English (US), Spanish (Latin America), French (Canada), Danish, German, English (Australia), English (Canada), English (UK), Spanish (Spain), French (France), Italian, Dutch, Norwegian Bokmål, Polish, Finnish, Swedish, and Japanese (the first three are preloaded for that particular region, the remaining languages are available for download worldwide regardless of region). Chinese is only supported in Asian markets for the time being.

@@danielli226 You can divide your SSD into two separate partitions, which means the computer will recognise the SSD as two different drives, e.g. C drive and D drive. For example, a 500GB SSD could have 200GB for "C" and 300GB for "D". Search online for free partition software. It's quite quick and easy to do.

Most laptops are sold in China with pre-installed Chinese language Windows Home version which is locked to Chinese language. Only Professional version of Chinese language Windows supports addition of other languages as Wondows display language.

I know what I'm saying, because I've gone through all these. No legit update can take you out of Windows Home edition. The only way out is upgrading it to Professional edition - which incurs fees if you wanna do it the proper way. 😂

Your video is very good. But it looks like China has programmed Windows to not accept a change in language in their Dell systems. When I switched time regions (I am in China, but want the computer to have US time), it actually reset the time zone back to China...yikes!

@@4N2WTF You need to install Windows 11 again by downloading the international version from the US Microsoft site and installing to an empty partition. Microsoft will activate it too because it'll recognise you have legal Windows on the computer already.
