Do you think it would be possible to completely take out the krause rings in my pocket filofax and add bigger rings that have the 2 places to screw the rings in? For example At 2:31 in your video. Is it possible to completely take out that silver part and have some leather still there? Or is it going to leave a square gaping hole in the planner?

Thank you for the detailed video, much appreciated. I'm thinking to get the A5 Chloe and convert for A5 using discs. If you're going to make a notebook by removing the rings, could the remaining 2 metal pieces also be removed? Any idea what kind of holes would be left? Or perhaps just covering them with washi to hide? I'm thinking that way too the rings could be reattached later.

The metal back plate is embedded in between the leathers and therefore cannot be removed. As for the two openings left on the inside of the planner after removing the rings. I guess you could get away with covering them with stickers. Probably need one of those stickier ones to keep them stay in place. That way you can also remove them if you ever wanted to put new rings in.

Hi Aura what a superb job. I decided to start using my Lefax from 30 years ago. The rings still work but they look tarnished and beat up so now I know how...! BTW why did you change yours?

You should recommend putting something under your screw driver to prevent damage to the leather. Also warn people that the metal edges are very sharp. And I wanted to comment on your fixing ring video but you have turned off comments.

How do you assemble the old rings back again? Let’s say I want to change from silver to gold rings, and I want to switch back to silver. How would I do that? 😊

if your silver rings are already disassembled it's very hard to put the parts back together. So you probably need to get a new set of silver rings.
