haha, I worked for FedEx and my truck started overheating. I pulled over and phoned my manager. Waiting with the hood open for 30 mins to see if it cool down some. Still pegged in the red. We have a deadline to hit each night so I called him back and he said send it. Luck would have it I hit every green light so the air flow kept it cool enough. Almost came to a stop going up the last incline before the warehouse. I wonder how much damage was caused doing that.

And as a mechanic the very first thing you should do before anything else is check the oil not only once but twice. Coulda saved yourself a Lotta time there

You should change it sooner than that in all honesty. While the effect is minor in comparison to being on the extreme opposite end of the spectrum by completely lacking any scheduled maintenance whatsoever, the oil will degrade over that timeframe and the lack of heat from the short drive time won't allow for the oil to heat thin and fully lube your engine
@seana806
@seana806 Жыл бұрын
You need to change your oil every 3 months or every 3,000 miles. In your case, you should have it changed every 3 months with how little you drive. Even when the car isn’t driven much, oils tend to sludge up and that’s why it should be changed every 3 months if you don’t drive much. Preventative maintenance goes a long way with cars, even if the car doesn’t need any major repairs or service done, you have it done anyways just to be safe. There was a lady in Florida who had a 1964 Mercury Comet with over 560,000 original miles on it, reason why it lasted all these years was it was serviced regularly regardless of mileage. Same thing with the lady who owns a all original 1957 Chevy Bel Air 4 door hardtop, oil was changed every 1,000 miles since she planned on keeping the car for a long, long time.
