Brilliant advice on the bonnet sensor. A splendid mechanic once said anybody who designs a car should do all maintenance on it. And for three year later too.

That’s a great idea

Just copied your idea I am booking four weeks ahead, if I get a vibe from a new customer that they will book then not turn up I've been asking for a deposit, so far only asked from three and all said I will come back to you... It's a great filter, thanks for the idea 👍

Nice one, Bob! 👏🏼 Think I NEED to start taking deposits to stop people not even bothering to tell me they can't be bothered to turn up🤦🏻♂️ It wasn't like I needed the money anyway. I'm just trying to run my little business for fun of course 😠🤭

It’s something that really winds me up as I turn good customers away as I’ve made a commitment to them. Hope your well pal

@@rmsdiagnostics I understand. It winds me up simple because if I've made a booking I'm banking on the earnings from it 🤦🏻♂️ I take it personally as I reckon those people who fail to keep the booking just think it doesn't matter...but it really does to me. I'm good thanks for asking. Bearing up (I think?) as they say haha! Hope you're all good 👍🏼

Im mobile auto electrician mainly because of price of workshops in my area- but im costantly booked up 6/7 weeks ahead & the amount of customers who cancel/forget or just mess me about driving me insane!

@@rmsdiagnostics How do you take them as i use izettle & its not set up todo card holder not present
@rmsdiagnostics3 ай бұрын
I use clover, I would not be taking full payment over the phone but the 150 they pay at the first point of call I’m sure they won’t have time to get a fake card

I had a ford like that last year! Pretty unique how the app sends an analog signal to the cluster the is converts to a digital signal. Those focus cars are rare here in the states. The app circuit doesn’t operate that way on all of them.
@rmsdiagnostics4 ай бұрын
The later focus goes directly to Ecu through through the bcm and I think on this type the kick down goes direct to Ecu.we see these in weekly

Great system in place if not one car turns up you can still pay the bills 👍 where would i start phone you 😂
@rmsdiagnostics4 ай бұрын
It’s made the booking process lovely and smooth,there are many jobs I tell the customer I think I would struggle to find the fault but they still want me to take a look, with this system they understand there is a charge to take a slot and pay upfront for my time👌

I started as a motorcycle mechanic in 1993 after always tinkering with cars and bikes as a teen,after 7 years in the bikes I moved to cars in around 2000 always gravitated towards the electrical faults in both I took the leap to start a auto electrical company in 2006,I was very lucky with my timing and never looked back,for the last 18 years I’ve done nothing else but diag/fault finding
@trevormansfield64954 ай бұрын
@@rmsdiagnostics I’m generally a mechanic but do a fair bit of fault finding. I’m nowhere near your level. Good videos. I’d like to see a few processes if you have time.

We are looking at changing up the channel but I don’t want it to end up being a how to guild of fixing cars,that has already been covered multiple times. You can catch up with me on other sites that I can’t mention on here as they hate each other🫢🫢 message me if you need any help on your journey

@@rmsdiagnostics Thanks. I’m going to be interested to see how the deposit taking goes. If I learned anything over the last thirty odd years it’s that a great deal of customers couldn’t care less about not turning up for appointments or going elsewhere to save a fiver ….
@rmsdiagnostics4 ай бұрын
I’m booked for weeks now with all deposits payed,but the work I do I should only really see the customer once and don’t build a relationship unlike service/repair shops.
