It is so hard! My 8th grade daughter has been asking for some changes this next year as well

@@schultesweeties it is a hard age for them I think too. Many social, mental and emotional changes can be challenging! Hope you can find something to make it a good new grade for your daughter!

Sounds like this is an amazing option! It would be great if we had something like this close to us. I think my only-child daughter would benefit with this type of opportunity as well.

This was nice! I have pulled both my boys from public school for specific reasons. This was a great perspective! Thank you for sharing! Looking forward to what you have chosen for next year! I really struggled finding math for my boys but finally settled on teaching textbooks for both. We did the free trial and my boys loved it. I have set the settings where the scratch pad is not able to be used and also turned off the option to skip practice problems just because I know my boys 😂! However, I am also a big believer that pen and paper for math is critical! We will print out the harder problems and I'll have them work the problem out on the paper available to print through teaching textbooks. ❤

Hi There! We did teaching textbooks for 6th grade math. I agree that hands on math with paper for working out problems is absolutely necessary. Teaching Textbooks wasn't deep enough for my son with the instructions, although he liked the functionality of it. It was what we needed for 6th grade and that year, but we've had to try other options for these upper grades. I hope it works well for you and your boys. I applaud you for taking them out of public school. It is an adjustment for them and for you, but I don't think you will regret it. Just seek out support from community homeschoolers when/if you need it, because we all do!

I have an only child also and sometimes I think he misses that part of being with other kids.
