I am not trans, but i find i cant stop coming back because i love how you educate about it. its refreshing to see what it really is like. Too many are too fixated on making everyone accept it. Rather then explaining and teaching those who dont know much about it. I love that you do this. We need more who want to help people understand it. Your channel has been very enlightening for me personally. So thank you!

Yes indeed, hormones do change our bone health! I'm going to look for a video from someone who'd transitioned but then went back, and he'd shared how he'd wished doctors had warned him /educated him of the hormones' side effects of creating osteoporosis in trans people. As a bio-woman who's 14 years postmanopausal and diagnosed with osteoporosis, a sexual health Dr validated that hormonal connection. We women have a small window in our teens-early 20's for building bone. Sadly, now the medical community idea is doing injections for those with osteoporosis which has jaw and femur necrosis consequences! 😮 🤔

Thank you for explaining in such detail about the physical changes hormones have made. I have a question. I am post-menopausal, and do not take hormone replacement therapy, because it is not often recommended any more. It was found that taking estrogen after menopause made women more prone to getting cancer- and that is why they rarely give it any more. So the question is, has your doctor said anything to you about how safe it is to take estrogen for transition?

Hormones have been quiet a ride for me, I didn’t even need blockers because my testosterone was very low to begin with. But my estrogen shots have made me very emotional, lost most of my body hair and only have to shave my legs maybe once every 2 months, my skin has become so much softer. My body has feminized too, so much so that my girlfriends have commented on my legs/ butt in a jealous way like wow, look at you in those leggings. That’s huge for me, My life and mental health have improved greatly. Thank God I have access to my hormones.

Someone told me that if ever estrogen and antiandrogen did affect the male facial hair, it would also make the eyelashes and eyebrows fall off because they're all in the same area...so now I think it's just fair that it didn't affect that area. One of my favorite effects with cyproterone acetate is that my leg hair totally stopped growing after my last shave, which is kinda surprising because I transitioned late at the age of 40 and less than a year on HRT. Anyway, congratulations on your beautiful transition and I hope you should have discussed about voice as well because you do have a speaking voice that would pass as female. My own speaking voice went probably a note or two higher even with my late transition although I've seen other trans sisters who's voice weren't affected at all. And by the way, I love and want to know your lipstick shade!

I went from 5'10.5" down to 5'9". I think its down to the hormones reducing the tissues between the bones a little bit. When people ask me what I think my best feature is I always say the softness of my skin. Even now after over 4 decades on hormones I still think my skin is my best feature. I'm now at that age that I am dealing with some of the negative long term side effects of taking cross sex hormones.

Thanks for posting. I've been 3.5 years on hormones. I have 2 sisters, and compared notes. One odd thing was that i became sensitive to cold, just like one of my sisters. I also became more sensitive to smells. There are a million subtle things that change. It's eye opening. I was afraid that my emotions would get out of wack, but i had been doing tons of work in therapy prior to going on hormones, so i handled it well. I just found your videos. They are very relatable. God bless.

Alexis ... I've been on T-blockers (Lupron and Zytiga) for abut three years at this point (not for transitioning for for prostate cancer), and your list of changes is all too familiar. One thing I hadn't connected to the drugs, however, is the height reduction. I used to be 6'1" and I'm now about 5'9" ... which is quite the shock. A lot of these changes have been cumulative, while, like you, I lost most of my body hair initially, I'm now finding that my moustache is thinning and never needs trimming. Having worn facial hair for almost 50 years, this is way depressing. I, too, have found my skin softening and smoothing (well, except for the scars), and my face becoming almost totally non-oily. If there was one change that I could say "I don't mind that", I went from being a stinky guy to having almost no body odor. Mind you, this is just from the T-blockers, without the addition of any estrogen being added.

This is so invalidating to Dylan, if she really said that... many trans people don't have the results that they seeked for cuz every body reacts a bit differently to it, just cuz she doesn't know any doesn't mean they don't exist. And regardless, Dylan doesn't look the same as before her transition, not to mention that she did a whole feminization surgery of her face and also hairline... I wish people would stop shitting on Dylan. Doesn't matter if people believe this or that about her, this constant nit picking of her every move is getting exhausting to read. I cannot imagine how she feels being the constant punch bag of conservatives.

After over 20 years of estrogen I cannot notice any difference except breast development to a 42 C bra, so don't expect much. Some may experience changes and some may not much

It's so funny, because as a trans guy on T my feet "grew" another half size. It's wild all of the minute little changes that happen.

Alexis... How much was the lip surgery and where'd you get it please? I've always had a naturally too thin top lip and I want it a little bigger but not with fillers. I've been thinking about lifting the lip a little as a potential option

Welcome to womanhood!! It sounds like you have gone straight to menopause, you are describing my last couple of years. I'm a Biological woman and have given in and asked for HRT. However, I'm actually scared - go figure! - so it's in my cupboard yet to be started. Thank you for talking about this, I know we are coming from different places but menopause leaves you with higher testosterone levels (hence the RAGE!) so in some way I'm in a similar place, but I'm really scared of weight gain.... you want it cos it makes you more womanly. But you look great and you look happy. I've always been governed by my hormones and regular cycles until 4 yrs ago when it changed, so I'm technically suffering a HUGE, VICIOUS & DRAWN OUT WITHDRAWAL .... and I'm not the same woman. it's weird. I sympathise with much of your journey - I suppose losing my normal cycle left me feeling confused about who I am, testosterone surfacing, feeling older, peachy skin, lost confidence, libido, my patience.... my womanhood, suddenly invisible. Maybe I should start my HRT.....

I made a comment on one of your vids about you being excited about getting the female hot flashes and things. Someone said that is a crazy way to put it. Actually it is not because when girls become women when puberty hits it is actually exciting to be turning into a woman, yes there is some discomfort but I remember the excitement of becoming a woman. I imagine you feel that same excitement of becoming the woman you were meant to be.

That’s funny, I hated my puberty, I never felt any excitement, I didn’t like having a period and experiencing breast growth, I started walking hunched because I hated the unwelcome attention of random creeps on the street. I am much more confident in my skin now as a 47 year old woman.

I have been on estrogen for over 12 years and have developed a feminine appearance, including a bra cup size of DD. I still regard myself as a man, although I wear dresses almost all the time. I sing.second, bass in my church choir, so I have the appearance of a woman but the voice of a man. My height went down from 178 cm (5' 10") to 174 cm (5' 8 1/2") [imperial measurements - UGH!]. I am a lot calmer and no longer drink to excess. My being on estrogen is one of the best things I have done. UPDATE: I'm working on a feminine speaking voice. The weird thing is now able to access extremely deep pitches (A1, three ledger lines below the bass staff) more easily due to greater flexibility of my vocal cords. John

I have to be honest, I got anxiety when you were talking about all of those side effects. It sounds really scary. How did you know you were doing something safe? Did you ever feel scared that there hasn't been a lot of long-term research that has been done on cross sex hormone replacement therapy? I hope none of that sounds rude, I think your channel is great, you seem to just spread nothing but joy.

I might make a complete hash of this, so bear with me, please. Alexis, I think that if we met, I would know you were trans, because i have a good eye for that, and I've worked with a lot of trans women. However, even though I've seen the photos you've posted, I just cannot see you as the man you were. My brain will not accept/process that was you. To me, you are the perfect trans woman. I've said before, you're more feminine and delicate than i will ever be. You're stunning to look at. You are calm, reasonable, thoughtful and sweet. In short, i don't think of you as trans or formerly male, or now trans female or anything. I think of you as ALEXIS. That's it. You make the world a much better place. Long may your light continue to shine.

Your very lucky for your facial features to changed from male to totally female. I have been on HRT since age 15, and now at 65, people always given me a very disrespectful face. People treat me as a non-human reject. To give you an example, I found a dog last Friday and went into Petco to see if the dog had a chip. When I arrived at 8am (they open at 8am for grooming), they had the front door closed but not locked. I peeked thought the glass and saw a male sale person would not come up to the door to let me in. Now this dog was over 100 lbs. and very difficult to managed. I pushed the door open ( injured my finger) and looked over at him. This idiot still did not say anything. Now I am mad, I shouted at him and said "where do I go to have a chip reading". He replied, "its over there but you have to go back outside to get into the next building. I said "can you help me to open this heavy door". Well this piece of human took their time to walk up to the door then he realized that the adjacent door leading from the store to the veterinarian was open. I said out loud "how stupid" he did not say anything. I notice now that since this heavy amount of the LGBT movement and people there hate GLBT that my life seem to be in danger. Now I have to carry stuff in my purse to protect myself. Your very very luck that your facial feature has changed from male to female. I hope with all my heart that you are not going through the same problems and you blend into society without being second guess. very happy for you. You seem like a nice person. I have never every had a friend in my life at all and something about you I wish I had you as a friend growing up. I have never said that to anyone. Stay happy and live life.

I’ve heard from multiple trans people that changes in hormones affect sex drive. Beyond this, and without getting into details, I’m curious to know if the hormone changes you’ve experienced have affected your sexual fantasies and intimacy preferences. For example, and this is a very generalized statement, if a man and woman have a disagreement, the man may have an easier time overlooking the anger to have sex whereas the woman will have less desire for sexual intimacy until the disagreement is resolved.
