Here's an easier way to change a garden tractor or lawn mower tire ( dismounting and mounting) in your home shop using only hand tools.

Liked the use of mole grips to keep tyre on the rim. Thanks for sharing

Man, you sure make that look easy! A way to secure the wheel and the locking pliers really are key.

Excellent approach. I struggled to remount the tire on the rim but your approach reassured me that with the use of the vise grips and soap, it would go on. And it did! Thanks for taking the time to share this - a great help.

reminds me of changing tractor tires by hand. ive changed at least 10 back tires on john deere farm tractors and i dont think you can do it by machine.

This looks like a good approach and is essentially what I used to break the beads and get the tire off the rim. Getting it back on the small rim for the front tires of a Snapper riding mower is a different case. I will try the vise grip approach to see if it makes it doable. Thanks.

I watched a few videos after my first struggle, and tried the on the ground method with rubber mallet and pry bars as for car tires. Car tires seem to have a bigger hole than tractores. Then i saw this with the bolt to keep it from sliding around and the vise grips to keep it down in one spot. Easy breezey. Then sprayed some deodorant inside and lit it to make the seel. Saved the day. Thanks
