@@highlandcycles yes you do..! It's so much easier if you lube the inside of the tyre instead of the mousse too, and cleaner..lol What a mess

@@highlandcycles I use the mouse racing mousse changer, same as rabaconda, its quick clean and easy I also use twice the recommended lube applied to the inside of the tyre not on the mousse...

I'm a mousse noob, but got 5 installed now(kids don't even know they are in their race bikes, lol), new bibs with new tires, wow lots of work. I've been using my tire changing stand that's tall, works great for working with tubes or TuBliss. I'm going to find a lower changing stand like you have in the video, I could of used a lower center of gravity to help me muscle the installs, lol. Thanks for sharing the vids!!

Thanks for watching! Get a good stand and you will love it. The one in the vid is from Moose Racing.

Have a mousse in the rear and yes it’s the right size for the tire. I had my damn tire spin right off on one side of the rim today after 20 mins on the trail. Why. It’s the first mousse I have installed or had. Did I use to much tube.
@highlandcycles3 жыл бұрын
Not too much lube. That normally happens if you accidentally break the bead of the tire on install

awesome struggle
@repomannv2 жыл бұрын
just a heads up for new Mousse installers, what nobody shows in their install videos, like this one, is that most of the time your tire bead will NOT seat all the way around with a mousse insert.. some suggest you blow air in to push the bead up to seat, some will say mount it wheel on the bike and run the bike in gear on a stand to force the bead out... most of the time neither of those will work on a stiff walled tire. Neutech will tell you just go ride the bike and after a few minutes the bead "should" seat on its own. Good luck, most likely you have several busted knuckles, a bead that won't seat and are wondering why did I ever buy this stupid mousse :-)

Another heads up, who cares? Tighten down the rim lock and ride. It’s not like it’s going to go flat!

Is it not easier to do the mousse on the coats machine in the background?

It’s actually not. It slips around on that thing because it has plastic clamps to not hurt street bike wheels.

😂🤣 it’s always hard the first time. It will be worth it when you are 40 miles from the truck and there is no way, no how to get a flat. And when your buddy gets a flat and you can say “I’d help but I don’t have the tools”
