Changing a Riveted Motorcycle Chain on a Triumph Sprint ST

You are supposed to screw the outer screw down on to the chain to surround the existing riveted pin. This does 2 things-it holds the chain in place in the tool, and it also supports the actual pin that is driven by the inner screw as you screw it in and press out the chain link pin.
