Nice one, very well explained. Many thanks for both this & your video on removing the rear wheel.

Thanks for the video! I lost my owner’s manual somewhere in the mess in my garage, so this really saved me.

Hello, these Sprint ST videos are brilliant in explaining things especially as I'll hopefully be buying one in the next few weeks, any tips and advice would be uch appreciated. Cheers Damian.

Hi Damien, so sorry for such a late reply. I have had to take a short break from youtube recently. Generally these are fairly good bikes, although they do like frequent oil changes/servicing so check the history/proof of work. Overall just check for the usual tell take signs of any slides or drops, ie levers/mirrors, brake & gear levers and any panel gaps with any mix matched fasteners. As these are a fairly heavy bike and more suited to a taller rider IMO the chances of it being dropped even at slow speeds would be increased. Also just moving on from that in my experience this bike doesn't like being ridden at slow speeds. (Town riding,filtering etc) Although one thing to note on these bikes is that I believe for some reason triumph used a slightly outdated reg/rec so do check for any charging or electrical issues. And try and have a good look in & around the exhuast header pipes as these are a fully faired bike alot of people tend to neglect maintance around this area as it's a pain to get to so check the Overall condition around this area for any hidden gremlins hidden behind a clean shiny fairing. Hope this helps a little, and my apologies for the late reply. Please do let me know, if you have purchased already or what you end up going for. Regards

Hello, thanks for getting back to me, last week I went to view a 2006 model, pictures looked great online but it's what the seller missed out. I left without buying the bike and was called a time waster, I'd say I was sensible. So currently still with my 2016 Tiger XCA but will continue hunting for the Sprint ST. It was the first time attempting to buy private and the experience was a little off-putting but hopefully with a sensible head on I'll eventually find that bike. Again, really appreciate yer feedback. All the best Damian.

Hi mate an informative video but when taking measurements the bike has to be on the side stand which makes the job a bit harder as the bike is leaning towards you. I've owned a sprint for 3 years and it's how it's listed in the manual.

Hi mate thanks for reaching out, and thank you for the guidance. This is the first time for me working on this style of swingarm setup so your input is greatly appreciated

Can I do this without the torque wrench
@thedbsworkshop19 ай бұрын
Yes, you could, I worked on bikes for many years in my younger days without one. But being very careful making sure to properly tighten up/secure fasteners properly. Also it's good practice to perform a short test ride then go over & re-check all the fasteners are all still tight & haven't moved. Although I would highly recommend the use of a torque wrench even a low-cost one as I've learnt over the years there is good reason to secure to OEM spec with different strength bolts/clamping forces or in some applications the use of stretch bolts(one time use) etc But of course any work on your own bike is at your own risk.

Hi, Thanks for this video, I'm in Oklahoma city, USA and just purchased an '09 ST two weeks ago and your instruction will be helpful when the time comes. The Sprint is too tall for me and I have an ''adjustable'' dog bone to lower it on order. Do you have any experience with lowering ? All my other liter bikes have not been this tall.
@thedbsworkshop1 Жыл бұрын
Hi pcat1000 thank you for you comment & support I'm glad you found the video helpfull. No I'm afraid I don't have any experience with lowering, I'm over 6ft tall so I have quite the opposite problem trying to find a motorcycle that isn't too small. Sorry I cannot be of any help on that matter.

Hey brother great video hope you keep making this videos about this bike so I can learn a little on mine, i have a 05 st model that i have issues with the starter, i bought a new battery but still turns heavily and i have to give it some real pulls of gas to start. Any advice on what may be the issue with it not starting at the touch of the button?
@thedbsworkshop1 Жыл бұрын
Hello mate, thanks for the support 👍 really appriecte it. I currently have a no start issue myself on the bike, hopefully have vid up soon on that. But any way with having a poor start issue I would start by checking you have proper fuel, spark & air. If you or a friend have an OBD2 reader there is an OBD port located inside the small key operated cubby hole on the right hand side fairing the one just below your throttle, try an see if any codes are present that will help to source the issue alot quicker. Other than that maybe go over your fuses/loose, broken or corroded wires for bad connections.

Hello mate, with the bike being the S model I just have the standard OEM ones that came with the bike when new that bolt onto the nose fairing beside the screen
