In this video I will be picking up my Fiat 500. The engine is not healthy so we will be pulling it out. I will also be picking up an engine hoist and assembling it.

Sir, I am so impressed with the work you have done on your Fiat 500. I have a 2012 Fiat 500 Sport with 113,000 miles on her. Had a few problems along the way but that little jelly bean of mine puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. Thanks for saving that 500 from the junk yard! I hope you enjoy yours for many years.

You didn’t check the Multiair brick first? These are tough and reliable engines - it’s very rarely going to be valve or head gasket issues.
@ForsakenSteel6 ай бұрын
I did but much much earlier. Then the car sat for a year and a half.

Hello great video, it's helping me alot. Have a question about ac. Did you have to discharge the system before removing the radiator and ac thing attached to the radiator? Thank you.

Yes I had a shop discharged it for me. I'm glad the video is helping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and thanks for watching.

great video by the way, i do have just one question i am interested in getting a junkyard engine to replace my bad one, but its asking me which engine code it is, i have researched everywhere and i cant seem to find it example mine is a 2012 fiat 500 non turbo but under that category it has three options, EAC, EAB, and EAK? can you help me out where you found your engine id location?
@ForsakenSteel Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately I'm not sure about the engine code either. I got mine from eBay and it didn't ask me for an engine code. Thanks for watching and good luck with your project. Sorry I couldn't be more help on this.

Hello, is it worth getting this car for about 3000usd that needs a new engine to be able to drive? And that will cost about 1550usd? I love this car but can't afford a brand new one... it'll be my first car. Recommend?
@ForsakenSteel Жыл бұрын
The engine I put in this car was about $3500 usd and was the cheapest one I could find. If you are paying $3000 usd for the car that definitely doesn't make sense. You could buy one running and driving for that much money. They are fun cars to drive though. Good luck with your first vehicle perche.

Sir another question i almost have the engine out but i am stuck on two things, how did you get the fuel lines unplugged without breaking them and second how did you remove the transmission form the engine. thanks buddy!
@ForsakenSteel2 ай бұрын
There is a fuel line disconnection tool that you can buy at most auto parts stores. If you Google it it will come up. They slide over the metal line and when you push them into the fitting it will release the internal clip. For the transmission if it's an automatic you need to pull the starter first. Then rotate the engine to remove the torque converter bolts. I believe there are three. Then the blots that attach it to the engine. I hope this helps. Let me know how it goes and good luck.
@peteg44822 ай бұрын
@ForsakenSteel thanks this does help!! Its a manual transmission so I think I'm ok 👍🏽

Greetings. What year is ur car and what motor does it have?
@ForsakenSteel4 ай бұрын
Sorry it took me so long to reply. The car was a 2015 Laguna 500C. The engine is the 1.4L with I think 101HP. The Fiat 500. The Pop, Ribelle, Sport, Lounge and 1957 models all have the same engine in the US market if I remember correctly. Hope this is what you were looking for. Thanks for watching!

About how many (book or billable)hours should it take for someone to change out one of these engines (so I have something to guage it by when I get quotes)? Thanks!

Hello I just replaced my engine but it won’t start. Is there anything special I need to do to start it ?
@ForsakenSteelАй бұрын
Not that I'm aware of. I would start with pulling a coil pack and testing for spark. Then look to see what the fuel pressure is. Good luck sorry I couldn't be of more help. Also double check everything got plugged back in.
