when pushing back the piston (2:57) what do you mean make sure your brake fluid isn't overflowing haha, is there a way to prevent it from leaking when doing this? Thanks man love the video!
@HustleGarageTV
@HustleGarageTV 9 ай бұрын
The brake fluid in the reservoir shouldn’t be overflowing/leaking because it’s a closed system and the amount of fluid should be the same. Just double making sure it doesn’t overflow from the reservoir 😂 So don’t top up your brake fluid while changing brake pads, do it afterwards if you bleed the brakes after all the pads are changed. Thank you heaps for watching!

Can I ask why you put the old shims over the new ones? I see there's already black shims on the new pads? Sorry just don't understand that one?

I think they would be okay without them, but I’m pretty sure I saw somewhere on dba that it was put on and used again

What was the verdict of these lads mate, thinking about getting them? Braking power, pedal feel? Dust??
@HustleGarageTV

I really like them hey! Been through like 3 sets now, they’re my go to now. I’ve taken them on track and as a daily and they have performed really well. Brake dust isn’t too bad at all, braking power is good for street pads, bites down great when you want it too, pedal feel would come down to brake fluid as well. But overall I do recommend these pads

@@jairotorres1145 i bought new never resurfaced,they last 5000 miles,each pair, m on my 3rd set now,i read on some forums,people with the same akebonos have the same problem, i think it has to do with the pin retaining the pad, i will try to change the pins maybe it will work

Sounds like your discs may not be aligned, possibly warped or possibly uneven wear. Tbey may just need replacing. You can also get the chamber checked on your wheels too. It could also be your brake lines.. there could be a bubble in them causing them not to function correctly.

You made a couple of faux pas. One, you should always replace the rotor with the pads so they seat properly. Two, you should always use a piston separator with multi piston calipers. Otherwise you can damage them.

Do you have to bleed out the brake fluid?
@HustleGarageTV
@HustleGarageTV 5 жыл бұрын
Blue Spider no need to bleed the brakes when changing brake pads. Unless there are signs that you need too. Just be careful your fluid reservoir doesn’t overflow when pushing the pistons back in 👍🏽

Project VQ what?? So I gotta make sure the brake fluid doesn’t overflow in the container? This is crazy I’m new to this 😂 I don’t wanna spend 1k at the dealer to get brakes changed. Do I push the pistons in slowly then?
@HustleGarageTV
@HustleGarageTV 5 жыл бұрын
Blue Spider yeah so if you’re just changing the brake pads, that shouldn’t alter your brake fluid in any way. Yes just keep an eye on it, Push the pistons in and after every corner start the car and pump the brakes to allow the fluid to flow back through. Put a rag around the reservoir just in case.
