My R 450 was wearing pads un evenly and turned out it was brake chamber leaking air from service brake side to parking brake side .fitter showed me by putting rubber glove around the disconnected park brake and watching it slowly inflate totally cured prob

Used to use a flat file on the guides or if really bad a good gan ower wi a needle gun, should really be able to slide the new pads in wi just hand, and maybe just a little grease just on the edges,

If your having to hammer your pads into the carrier it can cause brake bind and wear them down quicker. Some time a light going over on the edge of the pad with a flapping disc will allow them to slide into the carrier easier and stop them binding

If you need to hammer pads in mate you haven’t cleaned the carrier enoug,trying taken a little bit of the pad on the sliding edge as from factory they get covered in paint stay away from copper slip too it’s crap but Scania tell you to use it it just attracts dust and crap I’ve always put them in dry, them discs are shot too bits btw

I’d just whip the chamber off to check the return spring hasn’t broken which can cause the calliper to hold slightly The Mercedes’ ones break quite often

sorry to say but those heat cracks are not standard. you need to replace that rotor.

That bottle jack is friendly on the knuckles with the side stroke, all my years of trucking, it's the first I have seen. Good one, man.

Couldn’t help but notice your exhaust brake is turned off, you’ll burn through brakes quicker if you don’t keep it turned on.

My R450 seems to wear the pads more on the drivers side on drive axle too. I replaced both calipers and both brake Chambers and it still wears faster on the off side. I think it's the way they are or the ebs just sends more pressure too that wheel. Been watching your videos for the last couple of months and there proper 👌
