Moyles is still around. Hosts a show on Radio X interviewing a lot of celebrities.
@kimbogal16 күн бұрын
Poor career choices like this one make celebrities vanish, especially before the age of social media and viral videos. They definitely got a pay packet to be good sports and do the skit. But it was obvious part of James's script was to deliberately drive Lemar around the same borough several times and then get him there just in the nick of time, but clearly Lemar panicked as he was nominated best male singer which is once in a life time. It's hilarious and handy for the producers of Top Gear, dreadful career choices by Lemar and Jamelia. Chris Moyles can get away with that sort of thing as he's a radio presenter without a reliance on money from a fanbase to keep him afloat like musicians. Stuff like this is a career ruiner (being late to an awards show and arriving in a tinpot car was considered tasteless before the insurgence of social media, now it's considered "great PR"). The joke was way ahead of its time. If this happened now, to major stars like Ed Sheeran, Beyonce, BTS etc. it would go viral overnight. But they can't pull these stunts anymore because of traffic congestion and ULez in London anyway.
