OMG _I See The Light_ is so haunting. I can easily imagine it being played with new lyrics in a movie adaptation of the book "What Once Was Mine" that explores an alternate universe where Rapunzel's mother the Queen drank a potion from the wrong flower, the moondrop flower, which gave Rapunzel's hair killing powers, much like when she recites the Decay Incantation in the "Tangled the Series/Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure". I just started reading the book. It's by Liz Braswell and is part of Disney Book's _A Twisted Tale_ series that re-tell the classic stories.

That's a great question. The original actually has a lot of major AND minor chords mixed together to create that sound of longing! So when you invert it... it's still a lot of major and minor chords. So it's not all happy switching to all sad. It's a mix of both switching to a mix of both.

I Just Can't Wait to be King - If Simba was kidnapped by Scar and groomed to be the key in Scar's usurpation plan. Part of your World - It's revealed that Ariel is actually Eldritch being and her mere presence on the land causes insanity and chaos but it's all something she can't control. This is sung after she has to kill Eric in a mercy kill as the world falls around her. Beauty and the Beast - Belle fails to kiss the Beast before the rose wilts and while they're still together, he's now permanantly a beast. Tangled - I haven't seen the movie enough to get a good idea for this one. A Whole New World - It turns out that the Genie is actually a malevolent "Monkey's Paw" kind of genie and he twists Aladdin's wishes for his own gain. This song is set to him finally being freed and planning to rule the entire world.

Why does everything sound better in a minor key? It's like minor has little teeth and hooks that grip your heart. Major rarely can do that. Only recently figured out why I don't like Mozart as much I should - he rarely wrote in minor keys. Entirely too cheerful for his own good!

I tend to prefer major keys, but I know what you mean. Minor has a sort of gravitas to it. The best is when you have a mix of both! If you haven't heard it listen to Chopin's Ballade 1, it has a lot of dark sections, but the major key part in the middle is absolutely breathtaking too.

@@CoreyLennox True! That's one of my favourite pieces of music. Doesn't quite top op.48 no.1 nocturne in c minor, though, imo! It also has that major middle, it's like mourning followed by reflection followed by a nervous breakdown and then battered resignation. I think a lot of the nocturnes follow a similar pattern. There's a little pool of lyrical tranquillity in the middle of many, sandwiched by heartbreak. It's like he goes on holiday to Scotland halfway through them. 😁
