For what it's worth, I went the other way with tire width. Used to run 28mm, now I run 37mm. (Panaracer T-Serv) The change was for comfort. When randonneuring, you can't go wrong prioritizing comfort. As long as you finish before the time limit expires, you get the same credit for the ride as the super speedy people. Like basketball: A dunk and a layup are both 2 points. One is just harder to do. Just one rider's opinion. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for watching! I want to give it a try. It's fun to try new tires. So I'm gonna see how it goes. I suspect that after these tires wear out, I'll probably end upgoing wider again (although it depends on the events down the line).

For me 32mm seemed like a sweet spot for road and light gravel/bad roads.

As simple as your ride was, it's making me want to go visit Cebu and go riding. Great review. Good luck on your 600km ride.

You should! Thank you!

Suggestion for future videos, maybe you could incorporate the speedometer & incline data overlay? Especially the incline data would be cool during those epic climbs in Cebu. Keep up the great content, ride safe always!

32c for road and off roads for me. Plus phillipines pave potholes. No pinch and flats. Im using a 600 pesos tires. 😂

I agree. I'm ok with the 30 but I think 32 is the sweet spot

Were you able to test the grip and cornering of the tires?
@carlovillarica2 жыл бұрын
I've done a couple of downhill runs with it now. Corners fine. but to be honest, I'm probably not cornering it anywhere near its limits.

Do you also replace inner tubes when you change tires from one to another?
@carlovillarica2 жыл бұрын
these particular tires are tubeless. So no inner tubes, but if an old inner tube works, I'll use the old one.

Interesting idea. I'm going to do something similar to my 650b setup when the rear tire wears out

I love slick but thick tires...
@carlovillarica2 жыл бұрын
Me too. I think sweet spot would be 32s. But for most cases, I think thicker is better

@carlovillarica2 жыл бұрын
@@stevenbikes1936 i wish i could help you. I don't have much experience with road tires (slicks 30mm below). So I can't give you a good recommendation. Although these are definitely good. I heard good things also about the gp5000

Sounds like your gonna want two wheelsets, one for the road tires & one for fattier rubber.
