You are bringing up an interesting fact about sea level rise that is the land that will raise when the glacier melts so the level of sea level rise consists out of 1: added water to the oceans due land glacier melting 2: warmer ocean water carries a larger volume than cold water and 3: land mass rise in Greenland, Antarctica, Iceland etc Question is how much each one of these three components adds to the sea level rise

So much rise in temperatures as we all ignore the global warming by deforestation, coal mining, dairy, and many more which impacts in short a bad side of human development, i know what she feels that glaciers are fascinating and the important in maintaining eco system what we going to face by these physical changes is flood and more n more viruses trapped in some parts of glaciers.

Arun Kottolli yes but humans are both the worst and best thing to ever happen to Earth. We should just use renewable energy sources and protect Earth. Instead of killing life on Earth in a hot house, let’s curve climate change and explore the universe. Humans have potential. Not hard to stop Global Warming. The hardest part however is global cooperation.

Luis E. Zambrano C. Just to put in perspective. Earth warmed 5°C during the post glacial warming over 10,000 years starting 20,000 years ago. That’s a warming of 0.0005°C per year. Earth has warmed 1°C in the past 50 years. That’s a warming rate of 0.02°C per year. The current warming is occurring, I do the math correctly, 5x faster than a typical ice age recovery. And we’re expecting another 3°C to 4°C warming by 2100 on top of what we have had already.

We can turn this around, we just have to move in that direction. Glaciologist maybe, Climatolgist not. This is an incredibly arrogant view. As if humans are are important in the bigger scheme of things. Saving glaciers? The planet, its rotation, the sun, its irradiance. All these things are what has control over our climate not humans......only conceited humans think this. Ask a glaciologist this question: Are we in a carbon drought currently on earth?
