It's a awareness video of our planet Earth what is Glaciers and how they evolve time to time through the glaciers how we are benefitted and how we get crushed by them. This 7 minute video pushes us to know more about Glaciology. Their efforts are not to make money from it money is secondary priority is to share the knowledge with us , over 10 percentage of land is covered with Glaciers. Let's learn more about our planet Earth.

whot was the max temp the globe reached in the last inter glacial ?? 2.c more than today, how do you know if we have reached our interglacial max today or are temps still rising to a max still not reached yet ??
@wayneparkinson4558 Жыл бұрын
pre industrial 1650 we were thought to be in a cooling down period of the inter glacial until the first signs of warming started its thought ,Theirs obviously large variations of up to 6.c between tipping points which can happen rapidly so that's why the skepticism persists i think, Saying that theirs no doubt warming is happening and you will get cooler years in-between .It's CO2 methane levels which will really dictate what happens next they are currently at a 600,000 year high apparently Mother earth is so dynamic it could be as simple as increased plate tectonics volcanic ridges eruption activity under the sea is the big unknown?

I spent 6 weeks at this glacier, Vatnajoküll, in 1970 doing my undergraduate project on micro-climate on the glaciers. Of course the glacier front was several kilometres closer to the coast in those days. I can see one of the hanging valleys in the video had an ice dammed lake in it at that time. Now it is well clear of the ice front. The morphology of the surface of the glacier is affected by the black volcanic dust (tephra) that settles on the ice. First it increases the the albedo causing increased melting then as it accumulates in the sunken melt areas it forms a thickening blanket that protects the ice from melting. It causes some interesting surface topography with melt structures moving uphill on the glacier surface. Thanks for the memories!

What happens to ice happens to us.....🤔like: vanish......extinction.......that’s worth thinking about. We’re intrinsically linked to the planet. We’ve forgotten that we’re part of her and made of the same stuff. We’re NOT separate. What happens to the world, happens to us. What we do to earth, we do to ourselves!

@peterjohnstaples4 жыл бұрын
What intrigues me the most is the false scientific statement that glaciers are melting the most in human history. One would assume that the glaciers were melting a 100 times faster 7,000 to 10,000 years ago as the sea rise was estimated at 1000 mm per year then and 3 mm per year as of now.

This will of course be one of the final places remaining upon earth, and when Bond gets out of my way and lets me at those diamond deposits, or even my own thought, assuredly far more respected. But in reality these environments are extremely hostile. Looks good over the the rim of a Pepsi, but in fact very demanding. I wouldn’t last a fortnight, and anyway the mountaineering clothes are very expensive, plus I’m thrifty. I would only live there if they paid me, and it doesn’t look like they’re ever gonna own up and do so, so good luck out there. Kind regards from Beaune, France.

I´ve seen a few of NG videos and heard your predictions, and you have been wrong every time. You, Albert, IPCC and the lot of you. So, please, be more scientific instead of guessing, which is what you been doing. In this video you did not made a prediction instead you are asking " what do you think? ". Does this means a 40 years of predictions has ended?

This is not a science journal. It is a 360 video with narration of an area. I think you are confused about a few things. This is not where people go to share large quantities of recorded figures and data... This is a youtube video to gain general awareness.

When the Co2 taxes and carbon emissionrights are in place IPCC will have an revenue of 3-5 trillon dollars/year, and what are they going to do whith all that money? Feed the poor?
