Yes. The return line has a banjo bolt connected to a metal mesh filter. You DEFINITELY should take it out and clean it before putting all new fluid it OR if your hydraulics dont seem to work well. Mine was gunked pretty badly when I changed the fluid. You can easily clean the mesh filter with a soft wire brush - maybe even a stiff tooth brush and or some cleaner

Yes, there is a metal screen filter on that return line. I just replaced mine. It took an impact to get it loose.

What kind of oil did you put into the transmission?

Think it was hydraulic/transmission fluid. I would check with the local Kubota dealership
