I’m using HB90 for my personal use and a happy planner classic for work. I’m turning 55 this year so I’m seriously considering a 5 year journal. You are inspiring!

I have tried an all in one but also have tried seperate planners. I think I may do a school planner for the kids since I homeschool, a5 rings planner for goals/business stuff and another one for everything. But I honestly go from wanting everything in my binder to have if many different ones because a5 binders can’t hold a whole year at a time plus added pages. It’s a hard decision, for sure. I am a huge fan of EC because of their covers and paper quality.

I was very good. I did not purchase anything for 2023. I’m a C&P subscriber, thus I’m going to let the A5 spiral (love the new format) be my everything. Aside from that I’ll be using a B6, generic TJM journal, and 2 notebooks to keep track of my life. With lots and lots of sticky notes and note pads 😊 I really really wanted the Sterling-Ink planner. And I’m ready to try Hobonichi.

For 2023, I am going to dedicate one planner to my work as a freelance writer and editor and a second one to memory keeping and my personal thoughts. Having it all in one place is too cumbersome, plus finding an idea for work written in the midst of everything else is quite frustrating. Thanks for sharing your suggestions!

Thank you for sharing all of your ideas on your new system. I have also found that if I have to many planners,journals, notebooks that I don’t always have the time to fill out and use all the pages. When I see pages I left blank I feel like I haven’t haven’t accomplished anything and sometimes feel guilty. It really messes with my mental health. I love your 6 months for life perspective as well as your planner choice. Thank you again. You have definitely given me some inspiration.

I'm trying hard to keep everything I need in one A5 ring binder. That's actually why I chose a ring binder, so that I can mix and match pages as I need them. I created my own daily planner pages, so that they are setup exactly as I need them. I might add a second binder for actually planning and outlining my novels. I usually do that in a TiddlyWiki at the moment, but that can get cumbersome and I want to be able to mix handwritten notes, mind maps etc. with more "formal" printed out stuff like character sheets. And now that I think of it, I do have a garden planner lying around somewhere (which I mostly use in spring to plan out the garden year and then forget to keep track off every year) and an exercise planner (which I haven't used in over a year because I'm just not exercising).

I've also decided to completely pare back my planners & notebooks this coming year. I'm actually really excited about it. I'll be going back to a Bullet Journal, but in a much more minimalist way than I've done in the past. During Preptober I used a Moleskine XL to outline and track my writing. I loved it so much that I've decided to use it for my current book as well. I like the idea of having just one smaller notebook per book that I can look back on anytime

I am back and re- watching the video to see what notebooks are "replacing" some of the planners. I love the happy planners and all the stickers but where to keep them all and how to remember what each is for has always been a chore. Keeping them in the room where they are used makes sense and of course the one that tags along in my bag is for notes and reflection, just making sure i have a pen handy is the next thing to focus on 😀

After 4 years in a hotel, I am finally in my own place and able to be back in the planner community. I have been mind mapping out everything so I don’t over do it on the first go. I am already looking at Franken-planning a few Erin Condren planners or putting them in a Filofax like I used to do. I really like using the monthly for budgeting. Also I would love to know more about the Amber McCue course and some of your other mini courses.

@@melissamiller5972 I felt like that a lot while going through. Fortunately, I found some truly good friends that helped me. And not with physical things. It was the mental. I discovered this channel during this and it was more of her talking about her going through, and how she was dealing with stress and mental health that helped me. I started meditating and journaling. I started finding my inner strength. I started working on one thing at a time with just a notebook and a pen. There were nights that I just cried and it was the best feeling ever in that hotel room. I know this is hard but I want to encourage you. I also say reach out if you need it. Find that one person that you can talk to that is just there. I know the struggle is real, you have friends we are here. keep reaching out.

I found your content when preparing for NaNoWriMo this year, but I'm also enjoying your planner information as well. Though not to the same degree as you, I also branched out into multiple planner/notebooks in 2022 and am trying to simplify back down for 2023. For the last few months I've been doing "do" and "done" tracking, but I didn't realize that was a thing that other people do. It's another thing you can look at digital options - I do timeblocking in my vertical planner, but I use Clockify on my computer to track the time I spend on any given task. I like Clockify because I can click start and stop, rather than having to remember the times, and because I can copy entries over from my google calendar.

I'm a little late to the party, but I really enjoyed your thought process for condensing you planner line up. I will be using a hobo week's for med tracking, appointments and birthdays, a B6 Midori Diary to track a few other things, an A6 Stalogy will continue to be my journal, and a standard TN will be my memory keeper.

Holy smokes! That’s a full time job! I used to love planners then just went to a simple calendar when the kids were little. I was too overwhelmed for more. This was a fun video! Glad to see you're letting go of what doesn't work, and thinking about what actually does! I was a non-artistic, and minimalist, bullet journaler for years. Then I switched to the Leuchtturm weekly for a year or two. This year, I'm checking out the Hobonichi cousin! We'll see how it goes, as I have a hard time keeping up with my planners, and all those pages are already intimidating. Like I said, I'm not artistic, and my planners aren't pretty. But I'm kinda interested in getting started, and how to use things like dashboards, inserts, washi tape, etc, etc, etc. Would you be willing/able to do an "intro to planner accessories/tools" video? What your fav. accessories/tools are, how you use them, how you actually put them into your planner (tape, glue, etc), and fun shops to find these things? Whew, sorry for being long-winded, and thanks for the inspiration!

I’m also using multiple planners in 2023, but a few are very specific (i.e. a Pinterest planner), and I wouldn’t be able to use them as my main planner. I’m going to use those almost like reference books to plan in my main planner. I tried digital planning in 2022 and it didn’t work for me. I created my own planner for this year. I’m hoping my new plan will work well! Thanks for sharing your system!

I tried some simple digital planners a couple years ago, mainly lists apps, but found they weren't for me at the time. I do like the physical act of writing something by hand. I think I might try to add a couple notebooks to my lineup this year. My husband and I bought 3 acres in south eastern Indiana at the end of June. The property already had grapes, a few berry bushes/brambles, and fruit trees. Unfortunately, it wasn't really taken care of in the last 5 or so. This year I want a fully home garden (tomatoes, cucumbers, ect) and herb garden. Gardening journal and then also maybe a fitness journal. I haven't really figured it out yet.

I've been quietly watching your videos for years now. You have encouraged me to keep working, regardless of the setbacks. I started creating my own planner system about 15 years ago. I set it aside when life got too crazy for a while, but seeing all the customization you have done to create your perfect system, I have pulled out those old files and am reworking it to fit my life and career now. I have the issue with seeing all the planners and wanting to try them. I'd like to say I'm going to be using my EC and I'd like to try a Hobonichi cousins this next year, but we'll see what we end up using in January lol.

The extra B6 common planner was sold out in 2 mins. lol But, she is coming out with the undated planners! So, whoever did get one has another chance of getting one. Also, the Binding is not as strong as the hoboinchi's so be careful.
