Changing pinball playfield inserts and installing decals

I recommend friction-fitting inserts into a playfield. Tight fitment along with residual adhesive are sufficient to keep an insert secure. PVA glue only when absolutely necessary.

Curious on the Gorilla Glue.... isn't it known to expand some after adding water? Thought that would cause plastic to rise. I could be wrong.

Glad you asked that. I didn’t have problems except for one insert that didn’t seat well. It might have been due to the glue. After several days, I decided to redo that insert. I was able to heat and remove the insert without damage, shaved down the bottom side of the insert a little, and reinstalled (again with the gorilla glue). No problems that time. It might be that I used very little glue, maybe low enough not to be a problem. That said, maybe some other glue would be better.

Hmm... never noticed that before. As far as I know, it’s just a run-of-the-mill production Mousin’ Around.

@@LeebosPinball I think those are on prototypes and sample machines. Maybe a really early run. Maybe look at the serial number.

I own a MOUSIN AROUND as well and have some red lamp holder boards under the playfield. I think it´s normal.

I finally got to check the serial number. It’s 300944; which I assume is just somewhere mid-production.
