Great video. You explained the procedure quite well. The jacking up of the engine part was most helpful thanks.

I must say, you one handed camera skills are on point. Thanks for the tips, though most say it isnt necessary to jack the engine, you did all this with one hand so you still get the prop they seems to try and take away. Cheers bud.

I've owned two Liberty's (That's what we call them here in Australia) and I'm now on my third which is my first turbo. I've heard stories of people struggling to do spark plugs and shop's charging an arm and a leg to do them. I managed to change all four on my first Gen4, a 2004 2.5L 'Safety Pack'. Didn't need to raise the motor thankfully and I had enough room to do the job easily enough. My second was a 2007 N/A 2.0L dubbed the 2.0R which needed plugs, as it had a misfire. When I went to look at changing them, I said stuff that. It looked as if there was barely any clearance and the new coil packs that were being used made it look like an even more difficult job. So I doubted myself and I did not do them. Now onto my third Gen4 and first turbo, a 2007 2.5L GT Spec.B. My father suggested I change plugs when we serviced the car, but once we both looked under the bonnet we said, nah. Having watched your video, I can say I never considered raising the engine to do the plugs. I now feel inclined to change them since you showed arguably the best way to do it without having to struggle much. I thank you for recording and uploading. I have liked and subscribed. I will be sure to let all my friends who have Subarus and any whom wish to buy one know of your video and to watch it. You my friend, are a legend!

My 06 legacy gt's engine started to shake when i went to accelerate when i was on the highway i was going like 60 and i tried accelerating more and it started to shake then the CEL blinked like twice then went away and then came on later, what could this be? Also my brother checked the coils and one of them was kinda cracked, do you think it couldve been the coil?

I keep getting the same code for cyl 1 and 3 i already changed the spark plugs any idea what if could be? I feel it might be the coil packs but i bought brand new ones when i replaced my short block

What am I supposed to do if there's a steering bar blocking the nut to the engine? I cannot unscrew the nut because of it. It appears yours goes around the nut, but mine goes directly over it.

No need for doing all that, rotate the coils 180 degrees after unbolting and they come right out

SupraWes that’s how I’ve always done it, on my 05 wrx only one needs spun 1/2 forget the side though

You don't have to lift your engine to do these I got a bunch of water in my mother from a huge puddle and I was able to get them out by flipping the rear coil packs before taking them out and putting my spark plug socket in then connecting it to a extention while it's in the hole then just using a ratched not completely connected to the extension to loosen them and doing the rest with your hand

Yes at idle not bad but could tell
@miguelacosta45094 жыл бұрын
@@brokenwrench4309 ahh, mine is idling very badly, and i'm trying to diagnose the problem. i have injectors removed, cleaned/tested with a injector machine. new spark plugs. new coil pack. timing was redone, twice! i keep getting p0302/p0304 codes for spark plugs 2 & 4. also one thing is it was acting this way before i removed the Heads for resurface/hot tank due to blown HG. I thought doing the HG would solve the issue, and it did stop leaking coolant/oil nothing leaks now but still acts the same as it did before? any other suggestions would help, i am new to these subaru engines, so i have no clue if i did something wrong. im familiar with being a mechanic on Toyota's

I would perform a leak check get a smoke machine or make one! I have a video on what one would look like if you made it yourself. But I would see if unfiltered air is coming in. My intercooler was leaking and I was able to fix it and my car is running much better.

@@brokenwrench4309 I'll work on the smoke test that way I can identify a location of an issue

There was no need to lift the car. You can get to the spark plugs with ease. Just a waste of time
@seanhamilton41753 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say "with ease" on a Turbo 2.0 with all the stupid secondary air pump crap in the way lol
