hey! If I changed the color of the nav links, with your CSS, can I set a different color for the selected nav link? on desktop and mobile

Great question - and yes! This code will change the active links in a mobile menu to red: .header--menu-open .header-menu .header-menu-nav-item--active a { color: red!important }

cant get my product images to change to dark background or display text for the life of me.... very limited im finding squarespace

You can change the color theme for a product page in edit mode! Select "edit design" and on the right hand side of the screen, select edit section. Here you can change the color theme to update the colors you want to see :)
