Cool! But can you clean the air filter rather than replacing with a new one?

I do not know for sure. But what can I imagine is that the dust particles can stick into the filter in such a way that it cannot be easily removed, or even hardly removed, without damaging the filter itself.

Does anyone know how to remove the intake to that box? I've unscrewed it, but there's some sort of plastic 'bolt' at the bottom of the intake and I can't figure out how to get it loose without breaking it...
