Thank you So Much! The "casting" in the slot was throwing me off. Punched through it and popped the ignition cyl out. Thanks again (1978 Camaro).

Yes - I was afraid to punch through the casting at first also - but once you see it - well it is all very clear.

Brilliant! Thank you so much! I've been going crazy because I can't get the lock tumbler out. There was no slot to push the pin in through. Thanks for the tip to scrape away the casting! BINGO! Out pops the tumbler. Thank you very much!

Just finished removing the switch & now I’m waiting for the part. I have a 1973 roaster 😊 and I noticed some structural changes in the mechanics compared to your year. It’s crazy how much engineering goes into these cars! Plus I have a tilt and telecopying wheel. But your video really gave me what I needed. It takes some work putting these things together and for that 🤘

I have a 1976 Chevy Malibu but the casting was covering up the little slot so I took a Flathead screwdriver and a hammer and picked on it made this lot and it was able to access it

I have A 74 Corvette And that whole thing that you are talking about. The whole thing is damage the only thing that exists is the Switch daughter that's inside. It looks like a big project but I shall do it on saturday following through your instructions. I'll get back to you on that

The 78 had option of cruise control on the blinker lever and could also have tilt option. Should be the same.

What's the piece above the place yu put flathead it had two prongs on it sticking out

that is the "key in ignition" buzzer prongs. Most people do not hook this up - who really wants to hear that noise.

I understand taking it all apart but using a slide hammer in the ignition and pop the old one out and put the new one in. I have a 78 corvette same top tab broke but there is no way I'm going to take it all apart because of a little slide pin holding the ignition in

you dont have to remove all that . just use an ice pick tap it through the nylon ( blinkers) to hit the release tab on the lock.
