I don't believe a traditional prison is necessary for non-violent non-predatory crimes, and these individuals could be rehabilitated with behavior modification techniques and occupational training. Some minds are worth investment while others unfortunately cannot be salvaged.

They could be addicted. Or just be in a bad network. You cant just swap out your friends aquaintences and relatives for better ones. Oftrn these people got you into trouble in the first place. So there are not simple solutions. And job security does not exist any more.

@@thijsjong Addicted to drugs or alcohol? If yes, substance additions would receive additional therapies but again not all minds are savable. The goal is reducing recidivism so tax payers aren't paying for ineffective incarceration and criminals are actually rehabilitated.

Meanwhile, we have thousands of studies showing that sort of treatment makes criminals worse. But you don't want to fix criminal and what creates them. You are just a psychopath trying to impose social dominance. You are what creates criminals. It will be over soon. We know how to cure Psychopathy now.

Prison should be a deterent from commiting crime. You should fear a prison sentence. Somrone who keeps being violent should not be set free to prey on society.

Works fine in the Nordic countries. 70% drop in recidivism. Rather follow the evidence. Not a psychopathic need to impose social dominance.

@@darkhorseman8263 Evidence shows that it used to work reasonably well for indigenous, Scandinavian population. Right now, with much more diverse population there is a spike of violent crime and Swedes are nervously changing the whole approach.
