While watching I couldn't help noticing all the oil dripping off the right CV axle. You might look for a leak above and main culprits seem to be 1) Valve cover gasket at corners 2) VTEC gasket (above oil filter) 3) VTEC spool solenoid O-ring 4) Crank sensor O-ring 5) Chain inspection cover. I know what you're going through... my 03 Element is leaking everywhere. Just remember gravity and air are clues... look for highest source of leak. Good luck and thanks for the video.

I replace does too a few weeks back I haven’t seen any new oil stains in my garage I hoping all that oil is left over from the old leaks I need to pressure wash the engine bay to see if it’s still dripping from the solenoid but I appreciate the advice

it could still be the oil pan gasket, the serpentine belt could be catching the oil that falls on it near the crank pulley and slinging it on the CV's and control arms. I'm doing a 2006 Honda Element oil pan gasket right now, did a vacuum test on the crank case and sure enough it was oil pan gasket, even though oil was everywhere on the serpentine belt side of the engine.

Look for a stuck pcv valve too (behind ps pump) where people don't look. Mine had a collapsed pcv hose too.@@MobiTechMobileMechanic

I need to replace this as well as the Oil pan on my '05 CR-V as well because I noticed that the oil pan appears to be dented. No idea how that happened it was like that well before I ever owned the car, but it happened and it's got seepage from the gasket, so it has to be done. Thankfully it's not leaving puddles on the ground yet but I certainly don't want it to get to that point. So it will be getting replaced in the forseeable future. But on my car, as is the case with your Element, you have to lower the subframe to get the oil pan off the engine. So since my car is a stick shift and it is eventually going to need a new clutch I'm thinking that when it comes time for me to do the clutch, at that time I will replace the oil pan and gasket when it's most convenient!

How did you get the subframe to drop down after you took the bolts out? Literally doing this now and the subframe is kind of stuck and not dropping down, did that happen to you as well?

Just had my rusted out leaking oil pan on my 03 CRV. You stated you had to loosen the trans mount. Now it shakes and vibrates and shudders when it shifts. Could it be the trans mount, as it clunks under the driver side floor? Thank you.

My mother is 91 years old and refuses to give up on her 2004 Honda Element. Over $2800.00 was put into it this year alone and now the bottom of the oil pan is leaking due to corrosion. I wanted to replace it myself but after watching two youtube videos on how to replace it I'm going to take it to a repair shop. I have no garage and it's cold outside and also I'm too old myself to want to work on it. I will also have the transmission filter replaced while it is being repaired. I don't want that to leak next. I wonder how much it's going to cost. Please, under a thousand I hope.
