Thanks for the video. I just replaced the pressure relief valve on my Glowworm boiler and saved myself a call-out in the £100s. Seeing it done in your video gave me the confidence to do it myself.

Hi Mark- I admire you for just for trying to put things right and SUCCEEDING!! 'Everything is Possible'! I have just bought a PRV for my Potterton 28, thanks to your videos I have now got the knowledge to also do repairs myself and saved myself a hell of a lot of wasted money. What I would like to know Mark is the red dial in the PRV with '3 bar' on it,what exactly is this for & how & when to use it? Thank you again Mark for all your valuable knowledge keep it up!!! just wish the internet was around in the '80's & 90's it would have saved me going to the bank to ask for a mortgage to pay for repairs that didn't even need doing!

If the pressure on the boiler goes 3 bar or over the PRV or SRV will kick in and send it through the overflow - its basically a safety valve.

Most times the pressure relief valves leak due to the diaphragm in the pressure vessel split.

Exactly what I'll be doing soon... However, I'll wait a few weeks or so for the weather to warm up a bit ocase I break it haha... Looks like an easy enough job mind. Cheers for the quick walk through.

If you were going to change the prv. You could've just twisted it to blow the water outside.

MY pipe leading to the outside from the PRV was capped off!! so how come i ts been working for last 3 years and before the tenant who had it ? Baffled BOB

Like ur style. Lol. There always summink that turns up to throw us off course. My prv is right at back of boiler stupid place to have would of thought but hey. It's 23 yrs old now. Must change but, was thinking that fill loop leaking plus prv not too difficult and common thing so hey could I squeeze more time out of this baby ? Hmmm
