Tech tip always remove your fill plug first in case it's a bugger to get off, if you drain and not able to get the fill plug off first.... Now you can't drive anywhere!

I’d use the synthetic in these suvs….always use the synthetic oil for the engine! I listened to a dumba$$ mechanic that didn’t know WTF he was talking about and put conventional oil in my 05 tb…it sounded like a damned diesel running! It was getting worse the longer i drove it too…had no idea why it was doing this either….until I read the owners manual from cover to cover…it recommends using synthetic 5-30 only! To prevent the valve chatter that I was experiencing….the dumba$$ mechanic argued with me about it and then still to this day makes fun of me cuz I’m ruining the valves in the 5 cylinder he says my trailblazer has in it! 😂 I laughed so hard! Told him yep…it is a 5 cylinder when cylinder 6 burns out another coil pack so yeah..he’s right 🤣 what a maroon! He’s my ex husband though so yeah…he believes in that stupid…he’s supposed to be the mechanic yet doesn’t know WTF type engine a trailblazer has in it! If I know what an interference motor is…then he should definitely know! But nope….

Wow 😂 and yes you are correct. When I was originally doing this job I was reading one of those books that you get from the auto parts store which told me to use what I used, and then I saw another source saying to use synthetic but since I barely use the vehicle I still haven't changed it yet. It's only been about 5,000 miles since, but I'm going to swap it out for synthetic when I can.

Yeah mine doesn't either- but it's a different model year- 08. Just have to take the diff cover off

Can you swap it with one from a junkyard that has a drain plug? Or do the bolt holes not line up?

There is no harm in grabbing one and checking, a pick n pull or some for cheap
