Changing The Strings On My Synyster Gates Standard For The First Time

I decided to record the process of changing the strings on my Synyster Gates custom as sort of a tutorial. I didn't have to do any intonation adjustments so if anyone would like a video based on intonation, I'll do it the next time I change strings on any of my guitars.

You're an absolute LEGEND Meagan!! I just ordered one of these badboys in White with the black pinstripes. I've never had a Floyd Rose Guitar before and the thought of setting one up/changing the strings was truly terrifying me as I'd heard so many horror stories about what a pain in the ass they are. 😅 You made it seem a lot less intimating. I've always wanted a Synyster Custom with the Sustainiac as I'm a huge Avenged Sevenfold fan but I'm just trying myself out with the Standard first as it was only just under £1000 and if I can get along with the Floyd Rose okay I'll get the £1600 Syn Custom-s. Hey Meagan , what gauge strings do these come with? I just got mine today from zZounds , but it doesn't say.

I believe .10-.46. I use Ernie Ball regular slinky. Mine came with Ernie Ball on it. There should have been a tag on it with the strings the used stock.

@@meagandasch650 Thanks! I actually sold the thing already , after trying to connect with it for a couple months I wasn't feeling it. I really wanted to but that's how it goes , plus it was such a pain in the ass to tune it after I changed the strings I wanted nothing to do with it. I ended up buying an Omen Extreme instead , to go along with my Demon-6 , much more satisfying to play IMO and I'll never buy a guitar with a Floyd rose again...✌🤘

@@meagandasch650 That's cool , yeah I've got other guitars also. Some with regular trems and no problems with tunings. I had the custom S Synyster Gates with the sustainiac , it was pretty cool but like I said it wasn't for me. I really like the other Schecter's I have though. I'm waiting for my next guitar arriving tomorrow , my first Les Paul!

Well note to self next time I buy a new guitar look up a video of how to restring it instead of going "nah I got it" and then suffer through many hours of confusion and sadness.

Yeah I love the sound but the headache of restringing is just too much for me. I don't know maybe once I get better at restringing this one I'll consider another but definitely not right now.
