Sigh... my issue with money is keeping what I 'save'. There is always someone in my circle who need a pull out from time to time. Both family and friends. It feels good to be able to help but I am realising that this is not sustainable. Most times my needs/ wants are unmet. My question is, ' How can I be my brother/ sister's keeper without always sacrificing myself?' I ask not just for me but for other Christians who struggle in this area.

Would love to give you a one line answer , but unfortunately it’s more nuanced than that. The book we’ve found to give the best perspective on this is “boundaries” by Henry Cloud and John Townsend . It explores the difference between denying someone help and prioritizing your well being. Truth is , you can’t give from an empty cup - so it’s important to make saving mandatory and then give from your discretionary budget
