I have the bead buster and have been practicing on smaller tires will do tractors this summer. You are right about the lube. I put it in empty dish soap bottles and squirt it on. When you broke the bead you should have just moved bead buster to a different spot that way no hammer needed. Would like to see a better picture of the valve puller through tool.

Great video! Labor for changing a tire here is $100.00. That's if you take the tire and wheel to a tire shop, no service call. That kind of money motivated me to start changing my own tires too!
@johnwesner3935 Жыл бұрын
Hey JT, that looked easy!:) Well at least you've discovered things that work and things that don't! I've never done a tractor tire but have done 20" split rim stuff ( thank God they're gone) and 22.5 which are pretty easy. I bought the same auto tire changer you have from Fleet Farm several years ago. Bent up the same way. But $50 an hour is a pretty good part time job! Not to mention the workout!:) Thanks JT

Any kind of lube will make life much easier. Soapy water or even diesel fuel helps. I use grease on the beads when reinstalling. Proper tire bars would make a world of difference. Having the right curve and hook to the end really helps. I try to mount everything that I can tubeless- saves a ton of monkeying around.

Nice project, great channel. Back in 1978 when I was just 9 years old we had a brand new Massey 1805 out on the farm , we also had a brand new 1155 work horse, an 1135 for wagons and spraying. My grandfather owned the local equipment dealership which was of course Massey Ferguson. We always had top of the line equipment out in the field. My favorite is the 1155. Tires are never a fun job no matter what but you overcame.

Painful to watch at times, at least you had a bead breaker, on the hundreds of rear tractor tyres (tires!) I never had a bead breaker, bloody wish I had. At the start, i always knocked beads off on both sides first, before attempting levering the bead off, what was my best friend at that stage was " her in doors that has to be obeyed " her washing up liquid, squirt both beads, don't be too greedy levering bead off, little and often that was my motto, when it comes to fitting new tyre (tire) liberally coat both beads with the liquid, this also helps when putting air in, they pop out very easy, ...........OH & yes, I was always on my own, more often outside in some shitty farm yard or half way across a ploughed (plowed) field, real good swear words can come in handy, though I bet you used a few out of camera shot.......
