It's coming together! I still have some empty tanks to fill. Currently keeping a few open for new fry from my mating pairs :D Might even add in one more wild betta species...

I like to have at least 2 or more tanks for every species - I currently have an empty 10, 5. and 6. I have always loved channoides and albimarginata but never kept them. Or I might try a bubblenester so that I can enter both wild classes at betta shows lol. I miss my grandfather's Betta mahachai. I actually have a lone male that I got from the last show - unfortunately his female died right after I brought them home from unknown causes :(

We have Albi fry, And Mahachai fry but are all young still. I watched your grandfathers video and bought 2 pairs of Mahachaiensis after. They are so cool!

Hello! I just found your channel and I've been very entertained watching. I have a question though, do you think you could help me identify what type of betta I have if I send you a picture? I have 5 of them and they're female, I'm just not sure I think they might be some wild type.

Female bettas are really difficult to figure out the species on :/ Wild type females are very similar to one another. I'm not sure if I am qualified enough to do it.

Do you know if different types of leaves will work? It would seem that something common here in North America like Oak would work well too unless there's some factor I'm not considering. Love your vids btw!

Thank you! I've never tried any other leaves, but I've read numerous articles and heard anecdotal reports of many different kinds of leaves working. I'm too scared to collect anything in the wild here in San Francisco lol

Greentea Here in Denmark, Europe, we use a lot of Alder cones for water preparations. They are supposed to have an anti bacterial benefit too. Easy to collect and easy to store as well.

i love how organized u r and been watching ur vids a few months now but i do have a question, whats with the leaves n ur water and whatever ur doing with the leaves will it work with like oak or maple?

Thank you! I haven't tried other leaves, but some articles and a few of my friends have suggested that oak, maple, and banana leaves also work. I use IAL because there are several peer-reviewed science papers that have investigated the specific extracts of IAL for potential antibacterial properties, effects on fish, etc....also I know they work! lol
