I tried using the screw method on my GS 450 that other people in this thread have suggested, and the screw pulled right out. Nothing for it but to do just like what Da Wino does and perseverate with a screwdriver.

I hope this is true of my model, a 1983 Suz Gr650. Lots of similarities with the GS models. Gonna go give it a couple more bops, to seat it properly. Thanks for the reply.

I was going to do this on my GT750, but now I'm thinking since I know all the seals are old, and I've replaced a few over the years, but at this point the entire bike should be disassembled and all seals replaced, otherwise it's likely to start leaking elsewhere. Though it's not such a big deal on a 2-stroke as it's only transmission oil.

Hey Bud, Thanks for the videos. Very helpful. One question here: How far in do you knock the seal to seat it properly? Does it have to be flush with the case, or is it safe to knock it in a little further for good measure?

It's pretty standard fare across anything Suzi or Honda from about 73 and up

I need some help with my Suzuki 1981 550 gs. I'm not sure it it's the petcock or the carbs but I will go back and forth from res to pri and it will take a while for it to star. So I have to put some starting fluid and ones it's on it will idle good and stay on , but ones I'm riding sometimes it wants to stall. What's your opinion on that? Is this leaning more towards the petcock or the carbs?

My 80 Suzuki 250 blew the pushrod oil seal out while I was headed to work last see. Normally I use regular motor oil. Just prior to this issue, I used Valvoline 10W40 motorcycle oil. I noticed a,difference in where the clutch grabbed, the the oil seal thing happened. I drained what was left of the oil and it was kik sludge. Is there a product I can use to flush the sludge out to try to get her running or will I have to tear down the engine?
