After watching the video I feel similar to you, this is one of the best storyline among the card draw games I've ever played, I'll discuss the storyline of this changli from the following aspects you mentioned. Dubbing: The story of changli is a fairy tale that contains a lot of traditional Chinese ideas. I do feel that you read her well, despite the Japanese dub and the English subtitles (the best is the Chinese dub and the subtitles, but this is the best option for you, Japanese is the closest you can get to expressing the subtleties of Chinese). The names of the couple from changli and npc, as well as a lot of ancient poems, complement the story of changli. Music: A lot of traditional Chinese instruments are used here, such as the Xiao (an instrument used a lot in Chinese fairy tales to convey the feeling of haughty loneliness and poignancy). Sub-scenes: thanks to the beautiful modeling, you can use a lot of direct dislike of the face of the camera, more reflective of the character's facial expressions. ​@@tShuka_ for a moment yes, but dont get it wrong, the little changli in Sonoro Sphere was not a real Changli, it was just a thing made of Changli's memories. 1:29:37 "But I wasn't there for you. Not in the real past" So we (the Rover) weren't there to help Changli in her childhood, the first time we canonically met Changli was in the 1.1 main quest at Frosting Harbor, so she guided us to Mount Firmament.

This quest was unexpectantly enjoyable, even during rewatch I teared up a bit. Chanli such a gentle and playful soul. Really like her character. They made a great job at making you care and worry about her. Baby Changli is adorable, we need to protect her at all cost!

Fun fact about those weiqi board, a CN weiqi player made a post about those weiqi game board in the game, I don’t remember the detail, but tldr: those are not just some random weiqi board they put into the game, it actually has some hidden meanings behind it.

I loved everything about this quest. There were some things in Jinhsi’s story that hit closer to home for me so I would say I prefer personally her story. But Changli’s was so well written and loved how it turned out. I had originally planned on skipping her, but I’m so glad she came home within free currency I had. 😊 Love Changli ❤

I’ll always advocate to quality over quantity, idc about a story that takes 10 hours for one or two good scenes. A penacony quest taking longer than 10 hours when it really didn’t need to really pissed me off, probably doesn’t help I hate dream stories cause they often feel like cop outs and lazy writing.

I agree with you, but in both cases I kinda get it though - Yinlin has been deceiving people her whole life, and thus has never had friends despite being a genuinely beautiful soul; then you, a total stranger, shows up and trusts her by following along because you sense her good intentions. For her, we are the first person to ever truely value her, so of course she gets attached Changli goes without saying.. we are literally her destiny! Her whole life, up until the game's beginning, was a rehearsal for what would happen after she met us Also, judging by the emotional weight of the gesture Jiyan makes to us with the flower seed.. I'd say he is feeling pretty damn attracted to us too, so it's not just the females

Noticed it as well. To be honest a huge part of why the EN VA sounds off is also the way the voices sound sibilant and more "forward." Especially Yangyang, it's like the microphone has no dampener or something. I think they improved their sound engineering.

Fully agree with the lack of yapping. Everything was shorter and felt way more intentional. I love how the dialogues served multiple purposes (whether the parallel between Fuling and Changli, or how Rover grabbed Changli's arm as though she was trying to protect her child version from the dangers she faced all alone) and as always, the expressions of the characters. There was good utilization of show vs tell. Jinhsi's part in the main story was good, but I felt it was very direct and lacked subtlety. But Changli's... my god.
