Fun fact: on controller you can press the X button on xbox (or the square button on play station) to get triangle tiles. I don't remember how I figured that out but there is still a quick and easy way to get triangle tiles if you don't have a keyboard. The main reason i use a keyboard now is for typing, or copying and pasting cheats. Typing with a controller is HELL😂

Im so glad i watched this! I just got gifted an Xbox one and I haven’t played sims in AGES. I played a little sims 4 on PC when it came out but it was my friends game. I just got back into it and I’ve missed it soooo much but ill tell you what has driven me the most insane is THE CONTROLLER I’m getting a keyboard and mouse ASAP!!!!

I've also made the switch from PC to Console almost two years ago, and you right coming from someone who played Sims2/4 on PC it was definitely a learning curve with the controller and I had to watch tons of videos to figure out things like the cheat tab or how to raise walls etc But I still really enjoy the game even with that challenge, definitely thinking of adding a mouse and keyboard to my game tho because with the options I find myself having to pause the game alot to select multiple interactions cause if you don't while you trying to go in options and choose another one they'll already be done with the previous action and you running behind trying to drag the mouse to the SIM and select them with the controller

This will make my life soooo much easier! Being a newbie to playing on consoles and in the past always played on PCs I have found using a controller a nightmare. Excuse my perhaps silly question but can you use any mouse and keyboard or do they have to be especially compatible?

Aaaah I'm happy to hear this will help you out! So for consoles, I believe there is a very short list of pieces that aren't compatible - so most mouse and keyboard sets would work. I suggest finding a wireless mouse and keyboard set that use 1 USB port for the dongle thingy and checking that they'll work on your console. I personally use the Logitech MK235 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Set for my Xbox and it works great. But basically, there aren't specific mouse and keyboard sets for xbox/playstation, most should work but I'd probably stay away from RGB.

I’ve been considering switching to PC but I’m afraid I would not be able to transfer my expansion packs from Xbox to PC.. I’ve spent quite a bit on them 😭

You won’t be able to transfer. You need to buy them again unfortunately

Also if you can’t or don’t want to go all the way to keyboard and mouse you can use a chat pad for you Xbox controller to be able to use all the cheat codes and also it takes half the time.

I play on console with a controller. I’ve noticed that expansion packs do not include everything like it does on PC! I was watching this girl build a beautiful home with some plants I’ve never seen in my Island Living that I want! Turns out not even on Xbox 😭😭😭

As a former PC player and say stick it out, CC can be enticing but the harddrive on a console is build for gaming, my game has never run smoother or loaded faster before I switched to Console. Sims and all its DLC can crash computers and laptops like it's no joke.

There is a bug i believe console version that sometimes you encounter a bug where your choices go extremely fast causing the choice that you want to choose to be very difficult in order to temp fix is to restart sims 4.

I have an issue. I don't know if this is a bug. Whenever I am in Build mode, I cannot use the select tool to try and select a wall on the house or delete a window or door. I get stuck in the area where I choose the type of window or door. My cursor will not float over to select an item on the house unless I select an item to abuild. Help? If you're playing with a controller you'll only have access to the sims 4 camera

I got a question and also need help when I play Sims 4 on my PlayStation 5 I'm able to move the camera with my left right joystick able to look around by just moving it with the right joystick able to move the camera up down left right with the left joysticks but I am able to push it against the screen while still moving the joystick I was able to cancel things with a button on my controller but now when I connect my PlayStation 5 controller with my Windows laptop it don't feel the same with my console I can't use green triangle to cancel actions nor I can't move the camera with my left joystick like the console version and the redo and undo button with R2 and L2 I can't do that either and the speed up slow down and pause I usually use L1 and R1 to fast forward or slow down or pause i can't control it either like the console and I know it's not a console to PC which makes me sad because I'm so used to it is there a way to make Sims 4 on my windows laptop to make it feel like I'm playing console with my controllers?

How do you fix the lag on ps4? My wife plays on ps4 and her sims keep freezing up. She sometimes waits 5 or so minutes for her sim to move after a command to do something. Please help!

I have the same problem. I have it on PS4 and PC and once I down loaded the DLC for PS4 it lags and takes forever to load. It is basically unplayable on console with the DLC.

@@rivaini9736 extremely unplayable, I have most the expansions, kits, ect. And the lag is absolutely insane. I have everything installed to an external storage but I read on another video if its saved on an external hard drive to move it to ps4 storage. So I’m going to try that and hope for the best. My sims can’t even go to university because the time lag is so bad by the time they get to class an hour has passed and they miss class, I hope this helps.

Unfortunately as far as I know this has to do with the console itself. Try clearing up space, but mostly you’ll need to invest in an SSD and transfer your game onto it. Alternatively you’ll need a newer gen console. Load times are based on the consoles age and how many packs you have installed. I felt a HUGE jump in load times from my Xbox One to my Xbox One X and then to the Xbox Series S

This is probably going to help no one... But the reason you can't enter bb.ignoregameplayunlocksentitlement is cause one of the buttons you press to open the cheat box is the same button to search through items in build mode, you aren't typing the cheat into the cheat box, you are typing it in to the search box
