I go through the basic tips, tricks and hotkeys I think you might need to make your experience on console better with keyboard and mouse!

I’m so glad they added this, it’s enabled me to get back into the game on console. Before I couldn’t keep playing it because I simply found the controls far too limiting, but a keyboard and mouse completely fixes that!

I personally prefer a wireless set that has one USB dongle for both the mouse and keyboard so it only takes up one USB port on the console. Check out the set up video I made for the exact model number I use for mine. Best advice would be to make sure whatever you get, is supported on console (there is a list of keyboards that won’t work on console but it’s a very small list).

If you move your mouse while holding down the right mouse button, you can easily move the camera in a more convenient and smoother way than using the ALT key. This is a command that has been around since The Sims 1.

TBH I actually like playing The Sims 4 with the keyboard and mouse combo on my ps4 more than on My PC because to me it's more easier for me.

I use my same account for my pc and PS4 and have to rebuy on PS4, when I upload my builds on PS4 it’s from a different gamer tag than my PC so yea you have to rebuy everything even with the same account 😳😂

For some reason my keyboard for the ps4 doesn't have all these shortcuts. I can make objects small with the- ` | \ key on my keyboard but I can't figure out how to make them bigger. < > key doesn't do anything for me and that function is replaced by the ;, and :. keys.

Which camera are you on? Sims 3 or Sims 4 camera? The controls are different depending on which one you have selected (top right corner of the live mode screen)

Hmmm can't say I've ever had walls up/down only work on a certain level. Are the walls you're trying to min/max maybe not half walls or fences? If not, maybe try restart your game. Please let me know if you're still struggling!

As far as I know you cannot change the camera tilt with Sims 4 Camera.

I’m not sure if I understand? If using the keyboard/mouse your controller becomes inactive. Any objects can be placed with the mouse when keyboard mode is activated.

Really depends on your budget and preference. I personally prefer the sets that both function off of one wireless dongle so that it only takes up one USB port on my Xbox. Plus then you’re wireless and can move the keyboard/mouse around as needed.

@@ChaniZA Sorry if I deliver the information wrong for you what i mean is when you play it in PlayStation2 you move the sims anywhere without clicking on place to make them move is like any game you play it now on PlayStation4 but now if you want to play it in the PlayStation it’s the same way in Pc you have to click on the Mouse any place if you want your sims move. In the end 😔 I hate that you just watch your same walk and go and sleep and all that and you just have to click to go to make them move around but I still play it. I hope you understand now I really love the sims but I was just explain my points in this area of controller. Thanks for the video 🤍💐

I have no reference on how PS2 played, but the way I control sims now in Sims 4 is identical to how I controlled them on PC for Sims 2. If I understand correctly, I think your free will might be turned off so Sims stand around not doing anything, where as if free will is on, they'll do stuff by themselves.

You have to turn controller off.

Switching to mouse/keyboard is seamless. Just as switching back to controller after having used mouse/keyboard is. No need to turn the controller off for the other input to work.

Use triangle when object is selected and if it doesn’t work use the sledgehammer (or Y for Xbox)
