CB Radio is still active and alive in 2024, and drivers still use channel 19. #cbradio #hamradioconcepts #11meters

Love it and you didn't have to ID one time. I'm a HAM also, but I sit and relax with my CB buddies every night.

Now you made me want an 11m rig. Back in the day I ran a modded President HR2510 and picked up a D104 (because I had wanted one since I was a kid) and shot skip all the time. Thanks for bringing back those memories of good times.

This is what led me into HAM radio. I have had a CB since I was about 10 years old. I still have them in my cars now. I have learned a lot from the old CB guys that still ties in with the HAM stuff. My first base station was a Pierce Simpson 23 channel with a clock in it with a back of the set antenna.

Celebrating my 25th anniversary today in the amateur radio hobby today and I purchased a brand new Yaesu FT-710 with the MARS mod just so I can enjoy 27 mhz. just like I did when I started in cb in 1976. Excellent video! 7 3 de WX4ADX

I drove down to Hamcation from Ohio and spent the day at the beach on Friday. Went down to the fest on Saturday and had a total trip time from Daytona to the fairground entrance of 45 minutes. No traffic issues on I4 at all. However, getting onto the fairgrounds took me a good 20 minutes! The traffic handling into the parking area was not very efficient getting two lanes down to one. Did lots of HF on the road down and back on 95 all over the country especially for POTA stuff. Nothing much heard on 146.520 and I probably should have setup a CB in the vehicle. Hopefully I'll go again next year and most likely will take a CB with me. I gotta rebuild my radio stack for the car.

Been a HAM now for 15 years but started on CB radios way back 1982 and my first one was a Realistic TRC-422A. Never stayed away from it since. Still have a CB on my desk and listen to channels 6, 11 or 28. And if conditions is good, sometimes hear guys on 19. Yup, that's a big 10-4 good buddy. 73, DW1QEW.

Do you remember the TV show BJ and the bear? A trucker and chimp. "10-04 and I'll be out at the choke & barf for lunch then back on the road. Stay safe and watch out for lot lizzards and crotch cricketts."

thanks for not being a pork chop on 11m. for the few of us with a radio on, delivering almost everything to everybody, it's all we got. you might have made somebody's day by simple, honest communication. we are plagued by hams with amps on the only channel we can count on our brothers and sisters being on. some folks just want to anger people for no good reason. some of us just want our 1 channel to be free to talk to others within 10 miles or less. 39 other channels, but this is the only 1 our country's drivers reliably default to. if people don't answer you, it might be because you don't use trucker lingo, just like hams don't want to talk to people on .385lsb that don't call cq and qsl. long live 10 codes. lots of people hate us on 19, but don't know what it's like hauling 40ton on roads packed with distracted drivers.

@HamRadioConcepts just to clarify, it's not just amateur operators/cbers jamming 19, it's people with amps or people disrespectfully using way more than small power.i shouldn't have pointed the dirty end of the stick in 1 direction like that
