These idents will forever be remembered by viewers of Channel 4 and ident and logo enthusiasts, and pretty much everyone who discovered these memorable idents. The CGI is wonderfully animated, and it's from 1982, and animated by the late graphic design master known as Martin Lambie-Nairn, who put all of his heart and soul into these idents. One of the best set of idents for the channel's first branding identity, and one of the best branding identites in the UK, if not, of all time. I may not be alive at the time, but seriously, those are well deserving of the term Iconic. I remember lurking through TVARK and some old VHS tapes, and even I recognize the iconic logo. R.I.P. to Martin Lambie-Nairn. I still can't believe it's been over a year since he's no longer with us, but like the BBC 2 1991 idents, these are also a classic bunch of idents. We've missed you, man.

You can tell how ahead of their time these graphics were by the fact that they were still used until October 1996 and still looked great at that time.

The Fourscore theme has a very "airy" feel to it - it really fills the speakers. So well produced!

YES! I was thrilled when they showed that on the show. I was big into old TV presentation at the time and was surprised they went into detail to bring it back for the show, especially as TV nostalgia wasn't as much of a thing as it became a few years after. I've always wanted to see what Darkplace's trailers and TV presentation looked like during it's brief run in Peru, though!

The original Channel 4 idents were simple and beautiful. The millennial ones were mysterious and interesting, with wonderful variety. The latest ones, where all the fragments just fall into view, have just lost the plot.

I based the music off what Channel 4 used in the 25th anniversary version of the idents. Furthermore, there are many different versions of the music, of which somebody else had already done a video on - kzbin.info/www/bejne/r3e9kJ2orM6tjbs - so it was quite pointless including all of them here for that reason.
