Only HSV7 Melbourne used this, ATN used the Rainbow Circle 7 logo with the commemorance of color television in March 1975. BTQ and ADS continued using the Seven Revolution circle logo until the following year.

a high quality version of the 2nd ident existed on youtube some time ago, i think it even came directly from Seven's archives; did the user who uploaded it, delete it as well?

Hi there. These videos were copied from a channel 7 hi-band 1 inch tape to Betamax in 1980. And then dubbed (sadly) to another Betamax from where it was digitised. I've not seen the other version on KZbin. I did not upload it.

Does anyone know the name of the font that is used for the words seven color television?
@additivX9 ай бұрын
Regrettably I don't. I believe it to be a custom font developed for HSV7 for this imaging. I have not seen it used anywhere other than on 7 Melbourne applications.

What’s with the American spelling?!

What do you think about that mate?

Seven Network, Nine Network, and Network Ten used the American spelling. With the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC TV), they used the British spelling.
@additivX9 ай бұрын
In the early 70s the state of Victoria's education system adopted American spelling for certain words and that included 'labor', 'color', 'rigor', etc - the 'u' was dropped. At school we were taught we would be marked wrong if we used the old spelling. Eventually this policy was reversed. It may have influenced the three commercial networks choosing 'color', possibly being seen as more modern. In the 70s the Australian Labour Party became the Australian Labor Party.
