Nice kingy bro, good to see you back at channel where I started watching your channel on a vid you posted there ages back. We been hammering the work ups nor east and north of gannet rock/hooks bay. Also went Upto Omaha and went east of goat island and mangawhai got into some really good work ups. Had to stop fishing at about 10 bins were full of snapper. I’m hearing they east of Kawau/flat rock too. Gotta love this time of year when the snapper school up.

Cheers mate! Yep that old vid is one of my favorites too, one of my first videos that ever gained a bit of traction! That Snapper fishing is exactly what I was looking for that day but I just couldn't find any... Wrong place at wrong time I guess

Hi there Glen. How do I effectively fish a ‘work up’ from my jet ski for snapper? Cheers for the vid bro. 🙂
@GCJetskiFishing3 жыл бұрын
Hey mate, basically get close but shut your engine off before you get right on top and always drive around slowly. You want to position yourself so that you drift towards where the workup is happening, once you figure out where the snapper are (usually slightly behind the workup) then keep repeating your drift to target them. Once again avoid driving anywhere at speed as you will make the workup stop
@warwickgibbs63033 жыл бұрын
@@GCJetskiFishing Thanks for your prompt reply. What fishing setup do you use in this situation?
@GCJetskiFishing3 жыл бұрын
@@warwickgibbs6303 A hard metal jig around 80gram like a betabug or a double trouble on either an overhead slow jig setup or a softbait setup works well too

@@GCJetskiFishing Thanks for your reply. What are the benefits for using the 5000 reel? besides higher line capacity, even the smaller reels have more than enough drag (i.e. JGX2000 and 3000). thanks
@GCJetskiFishing3 жыл бұрын
@@flyryd basically so you can use higher strength braid. It is recommended to use 50 to 80lb braid on the 5000 size reel, the smaller reels are suitable for lighter line
