Will a ride plate mounted larger transducer (like the Lowrance 3 in 1) affect the ride and performance of the waverunner? I like the clean look but a bit concerned performance will suffer.

There might be the odd trip or two but I have done all the development I can to the FX and its still pretty much the same as the current model so I'm probably going to think about selling it when summer comes around, atleast until Yamaha come out with a new FX platform

Nice. My next purchase from you and a winter project. Do you notice any leaning to the left under travel from the weight of the Minn Kota or does the battery weight offset enough? Got suggestions of where to mount the heading sensor if I have a windshield?

Yes the idea is the battery placement offsets the weight and evens things out. I am working on designing a mount for the heading sensor on ski's with windshields

If using lithium batteries the actual weight of them is miniscule. Going to need something else besides that for ballast if needed.

@@rickss69 thats not entirely true, lithium batteries are light in comparison to traditional batteries but you need large batteries for trolling motors. My 100ah lithium battery (12kg) weighs 3/4 of the weight of the minn kota unit (16kg)

All the other mounts i've seen are really far forward and would be hard to access, thats why I positioned my mount close back to the rider for easy deployment. I'm not a tall guy either and my mount is really easy to reach

Nice to see you back out on the water GC! The trolling motor is perfect for flat water. I'd love to have one but I am not so sure on the rough trips offshore I do it would last! Keep us posted how it goes over the coming months.

Cheers Paul, as you know with anything on a ski a good mounting solution is key, as long as the Minn Kota can handle the salt water splashes it should be fine

It can be done but it's generally good practice to keep both batteries the same size and age etc in a parallel setup

Yes it will work on the wake pro. I prefer AGM batteries as lithiums are not suited to the charging system on a ski

Yes it would work for your ski. I always recommend not using Lithium batteries connected to the ski's charging system. They require specific charging amps and voltages that the ski just doesn't account for

The Daiwa BG reels are top notch for the price point. I use one on my surf spin set and it's got a beautiful smooth drag when I'm getting hauled around by the Kahawai at the Rakaia mouth. Great vid thanks. Keep pumping them out as we are all better off for it!

They are OK but I found they eventually fail due to salt water ingress on a jetski... I changed to the Penn Slammer 4 a few years ago and havent had any issues since
