If you could take any pyzel/CI model back to Waco, what would it be?

Speaking for brother number 2, I think the rocket wide would be so fun! Even more amazing if I could take one in spine tek. I think a 2+1 set up there would be insane. You get the hold but easy release when you want to blow the tail out. Also, the RW is shorter and curvier so it can be surfed in the pocket in tighter arcs. Lastly it’s specifically designed for smaller waves and with the spine tek “pop” and extra buoyancy, think it would be a perfect fit. The flat earth would be my backup board if the RW broke.

My dims for NB2 are 5'11" x 20" x 2 5/8" - 34.4L. This was too much board for me as I normally ride around 32L +/- 1L. My original neckbeard was 5'10" x 20" x 2 1/2" - 32.4L and that felt like a good spot to be in.

@@greenroomsurfreviews I had in the past a stock 5.9 spinetek. It was amazing but back then my skills where poor. I wanna buy it again in a bigger size but I am thinking not to go really big because it has so much lift. I am 5.11 195. My short board is a 6.1 33.8 liters and feels very good. I know that a nb2 feels more liters than it really is. Do you think a stock 5.10 would be ok, or a custom 5,9 with extra thickness? Thanks!

Good question! It depends on 2 things, timeline and length. Can you wait for a custom (we need instant gratification) and do you prefer a shorter board? If all things are equal, we recommend stock dims for availability and proportions, but definitely avoid the stock 5’11, that will be too much! 🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼

@@greenroomsurfreviews For sure I can wait! I like medium tail. Not very short, not very long. 33 liters will be ok for the 5.10. I just wonder if it’s to much to pump the 5.9 in width and thickness. How much would you pump the 5.9? Thanks a lot!

Disclaimer 1: we are average surf dads Disclaimer 2: we are not (nor pretend to be) surfboard shapers Ok with our secrets completely exposed, we don’t think adding 1.5L would break the 5’9. But wouldn’t be a bad idea to chat the CI folks and get their take. Either way, you’ll like the board (even moreso when you get it in quality surf!). What fins have you been using on your NB2’s?

Hey Damien! I surfed the AM1 Blackstix with the NB2 and loved them. They are designed for speed generation which helps when you are pumping down the line. How are you liking your NB2 so far?

@@greenroomsurfreviews just picked a spine tek one up to replace my happy everyday whilst I start repairing it, problem being I only run figures & this is FCS, so little bit of figuring out to do.

Ahhh yessss. We stick mostly to Futures as well. With that said, Andrew did some digging and found a near match to those Blackstix in the FCS world. They are called FCS II AL MERRICK PC AIRCORE TRI FINS. Also interesting to note, if you go to the fcs website ➡️ www.surffcs.com/collections/fins/shortboard+speed---reactor-family?sort_by=manual and scroll down to the bottom, they have “fin school” where I presume you can become enlightened and discover the right fin to fit your type of surfing. The concept sounds interesting!
