Wow that first wave and then that backside rail grab ....... Board looks good under your feet!

Very easy board to surf - lots of cruise and a bit of performance!
@58shortboard2 жыл бұрын
Craig, initially I ordered a 5’7” twin pin and made it, 2 3/8” thick. Same as my high performance shortboard. It didn’t work, although, it looked insane. It’d been decades since I rode a flat to vee bottom board, and those boards were a lot thicker. Why? Of course, the era. But, vee was introduced to get thicker railed boards on its side, to initiate rail to rail turning. So, a vee bottom sits lower in the water and needs thickness to give the board some lift. Whereas, a concave bottom provides lift at speed and needs a bit thinner rail to control it. So, I went 2” longer and 3/16” thicker, and the board works well in waist to double overhead. Long story, I should’ve watched your review and it would’ve saved me some time. Lol! Another, exceptional review. Cheers

Thanks for your feedback and sharing your experience! Great board, but I really did need to throw my shortboard volume and sizing out the window to look at this very differently…

LOVE your reviews man. I've had my eye on this board for quite some time. I have a 5'8 Christenson fish & a Happy Everyday (which I am not that excited with) and was wondering where the CI TwinPin stands vs the happy everyday.

Well, I see your first impressions were confirmed. I think this will be my main board next winter, keeping my Nautilus as step up. Fins, 5'79 Paceys. Good review.

Thanks for the review. If you had choose between the Twin Pin and the Album Twinsman, which would you go for?

Hey! I felt like they're two very different boards, so kind of hard to compare them side by side. Ideally both board, with the Twin Pin for cruising, and the Twinsman for more high-performance surfing.

the Brit merrick fin doesnt come in FCS 2 right? What would the equivalent be?

It didn’t, but I think it might now. Originally it was through Shapers, but now Futures are doing it.

Hey Craig , another good review mate. I’m 6’0 and 80kgs and just can’t decide between the 5’11 and the 6’1. Do you think me being a bit lighter than you the 6’1 could be too much volume? Or do they seem to handle the extra foam still. ? Interested on your thoughts after riding both. Thanks, Jake

Hey! Go bigger! The experience of most people is they enjoy it longer/bigger. There are a lot of these traded in as people went too small.
