I know you hadn't uploaded videos for a loooong time, but it does make for a really great and interesting "updates in the last 11 months or so" kind of video! Really appreciated it. I didn't mind the absence since I kinda already knew you were a bit busy with some things in life to put any decent time into KZbin. Sleep apnoea sounds quite scary indeed. Thank goodness you got it diagnosed and treated at a rather early stage of your life. I hope things get better from there as you lose some weight. God Bless. My guess as to what new laptop you bought, is a Lenovo ThinkPad. If I had to guess further and include the model, ThinkPad Z14. Where did you get the 64GB RAM limit for your desktop from? I'm guessing from the spec page of the model of motherboard you have in there? Because with socket AM4 I've noticed the vast majority of newer motherboards support it at 128GB maximum (32GB is the largest consumer DDR4 module size you can get), while with older / first gen motherboards, it's a mixed bag, I think I saw a few at 128, but most were 64 from what I remember. And by the way, I hope you know this already, but AMD has opened up Ryzen 5000 series support, including that 8-core model with the 3D-stacked extended L3 cache, to all motherboards with 300-series chipset. So if your board has it the latest BIOS update should support the Zen 3 based 5000 series processors. I have 32 gigs of RAM in my personal desktop and what can I say, it's nice being able to leave Chrome with dozens of tabs as well as other RAM-hogging programs in the background while gaming at the same time, especially modern AAA type of games which are quite RAM-heavy. Though I have some more good specific uses of this extra RAM than this, but that's just what I wanted to say. My laptop (a ThinkPad T440p) has 16 gigs of RAM installed and yeah, it was pretty damn tight with the RAM usage at times when I had multiple VMs running doing some of my coursework (also IT related, a little similar to what you did). I had to reduce the memory size on the VMs to be able to open more. Now that I'm finished with study I'm planning on selling my ThinkPad T440p some time soon. It's just so thick, heavy, hot-running, and has a rather short battery life such that it's very impractical and uncomfortable for me to use as a "laptop". Don't know what I'll replace it with but it definitely won't be something heavy and power hungry. I thought about thin and light laptops that use a "U-series" type of processor, as well as maybe even an iPad. The previous laptop I had before this was an Asus ZenBook UX310UA 13".

Glad to see the return to form! Yeah training/postsecondary education can be a bit of a dog, I was able to balance it for my two years of the stuff, but of course my job for the past near-two years has ate my time mostly with commuting. I'm hoping to change that soon, I go in for *another* interview tomorrow, but it's for sure not easy living in a small, rural town and trying to find work without having to drive at least half an hour one way. If I'm fortunate enough, I'll be able to cut my commute time and distance by nearly 100%, which will be dope. Looking forward to the upcoming content from you, I'll be sure to watch.

I'm in the same boat, my commute is very long too, about 3 hours round trip by train. I don't mind it but once I get some more money together I'm going to find a closer place to live.

let me give you the 411: 1. videos haven't been uploaded because i have been studying like crazy for my traineeship and needed to focus 2. my job is ending on 30/09 because the business doesn't have capacity to keep me on 3. i have developed severe sleep apnea and literally could have died if i didn't find out when i did 4. bought a new laptop to replace the donglebook amateur 5. i have a tone of new stuff to make videos on, quite a few old computers i've acquired as well as a few other things like my PS5 and Google Pixel I will be making videos on 6. hopefully this is the last time i'm on a hiatus because i hate how my channel has been on the brink of death.

Interesting, at what times are these cuts? It seemed fine when I gave it a quick review before I uploaded it. Keep in mind this video also went through Handbrake to compress the size down prior to uploading it, but I've done that for years without issues.

@@JackStavris I did notice an audio glitch or two in the video, though I didn't note what timestamp(s).

@@bestage9429 it's an issue with my camera, or more specifically importing footage from it. It seems to split the recording into seperate files every 10 minutes which causes an audio cut for about a second or so, so sometimes I can't avoid having the audio cut out if I'm in the middle of a sentence and it happens.
