Interesting, the European version has the frequency band up to 694 MHz. The North American blocks the frequencies above 608 MHz. Also the model you've shown can be installed directly on the antenna (if the antenna has an F Type connector) or on a splitter (at the IN port)

Thanks for the info. Never occured to me how close 5G LTE was to the higher channels in the TV spectrum. Installed one of these filters and it made a vast difference on channels 31 through 36 in my area. I may end up purchasing the FM radio filter because I have stations on channel 3 and 7, they cut out ALOT of the time. The TV tower for both channel 3 and 7 is less than a half mile from me, and what's interesting is that on the same hill as that TV tower, there are several FM radio towers and a couple of 5G cell towers. So, nice info. Thanks!

i wonder if both the am/fm filter and the 4g/5g/lte filter will work at the same time i live in southern ontario (right between the us/canada border and the cn tower) and im wondering if this will boost the signal with an amplified outdoor antenna also wondering if both of those filters will work with cband and ku band reception as well (with the dish amplified and motorized of course)

The 5G and FM each filter a different portion of frequency spectrum. So they can work installed in line. But they work for OTA signals only. 5G signals that affect C band satellite are on a different part of the frequency spectrum (much higher up). They have LNBs with built in 5G filter for C-band. C Band Satellite LNB with 5G Filter kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqKXq52kjNCSi5Y
@Nicholas_Chris Жыл бұрын
You don't need 5G filter for you satellite reception system, only for UHF antenna. The LNBs (both C and Ku) especially the newer models have already a 5G filter built in. In case you want to install a 5G filter on your coax, it is a bad ideea if you have satellite signals. The satellite receivers have the frequency band 950 - 2150 MHz, as you can see in the video at 1:53 the 5G filter blocks the frequencies above 608 MHz, that means no satellite reception. For UHF antennas, the 5G filter is mandatory, so you won't have reception problems.

These 5G filters are also necessary if you are using an old TV antenna.
@NorthcoasterHobby Жыл бұрын
They’re necessary on any TV antenna. Old antennas work just the same as new ones do. Antennas see RF, not analog or digital.

W Polsce takich filtrów używamy do starych jaki do najnowszych anten, producenci niestety oszukują piszą tylko że antena ma filtr, ale faktycznie antena go nie ma. Dopiero po podłączeniu miernika wychodzi prawda. Pozdrawiam

Hi Good information have to try. Ordered a GTMEDIA GTX CONBO- a bit pricey but it’s advertising supposedly a dual frequency ( satellite/ ATSC receiver ) The android side 32 gb if so in the past these hi-bread receivers were only 16 gb. Will check back with what i find, been a wile since i have seen a new S2/t2 ATSC receiver on the market . Should make an interesting mini computer- will see. Funny have not seen any reviews here on KZbin yet.

Nice Video. I have 2 questions to throw at you. I have the Channel Master 4 outlet distribution splitter amp. I also have an LTE Filter I bought years ago before the 5G LTE Filter was necessary/available. I have my LTE Filter plugged directly into the RF In on the Amp. Is there any reason that would be a bad idea? Second question: I seen on Channel Master website they have PreAmps and Distribution Amps. I have the Distribution 4 Output Amp. What's the difference between distribution amp and PreAmp?
@NorthcoasterHobby2 ай бұрын
Hi there, I reviewed the Channel Master 4-output distribution amplifier some time ago and really like it. A 5G/LTE filter should always go before any sort of amplifier (preamp or distribution); filtration before amplification. Ideally a 5G/LTE filter should be placed as close to the output of the antenna as possible, therby filtering unwanted frequencies from the coax cable as soon as possible, so your filter sound like it is placed in the correct position before the amplifier. But you could place it outside too, closer to the antenna. A preamp is an amplifier that is placed right at the antenna, setting the noise floor of the system and preserving as much signal as possible for the signal journey through the coax cable. Any loss is neutralized by the preamp, meaning that there is enough signal left at the tuner to overcome any noise in the system. Basically the preamp holds the signal from the antenna to the TV tuner. It is designed for outdoor installation, and is the most ideal way to preserve signal. A good quality preamp can easily feed 6-8 TV's. More information here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnezeH2DbLCkl9ksi=_XLuAy8vN7EVYrML A distribution amp is an amplifier that is added to a system to feed 2 or more TV tuners (across a house for example). It amplifies the signal to ensure that there's adequate signal to feed multiple TV's in a building. It is typically installed indoors at the coaxial cable distribution point, usually where the antenna feed enters the house. Some 'powered splitters' are referred to as distribution amps, but they are not quite the same. Hi Update on GTMEDIA GXT combo . Received it today and without a doubt you can plug in your atsc antenna,did one scan and only got ion channels so it appears will have to manually scan for all frequencies with channels in manual search. You can put any wallpaper or pictures on this thing neat feature.

Have you found any quality variance in different brands of these 5G/LTE filters? I currently have the SiliconDust LPF-608M, which appears to have similar specs. I still get a lot of interference on channel 7 especially. Wondering if I should try this brand, or an FM filter first.
@NorthcoasterHobby5 ай бұрын
Most 5G filters will work fine- I doubt there’s much difference as long as you stick with a good brand name. Channel 7 interference is probably not related to 5G. Could definitely be from FM broadcasts however. Try an FM filter. I had to watch your video to get an answer about if it was possible to combine the LTE filter with the FM filter. Channel Master could not answer the question Thank You Great Video. Is there insertion loss by adding both filters? Also do you know what filter could block Airplane frequencies I live very close to an airport and several FM radio stations with no amplication, Just a Clearstream 2max antenna.
@NorthcoasterHobby Жыл бұрын
I think all filters, splitters, etc., will have some insertion loss. The only filter I can think of that may possibly help is Channel Master's high pass filter: amzn.to/3rp9oE2 It filters out interefrence below RF channel 2, covering the other side of the TV frequency spectrum.
